Duncan is struggling to put up 13 and 9 and play in more than 29 minutes a game .... but according to many Spurs fans, none of this matters.
sons it is sad to see that the All Star game no longer awards the most deserving players and has become a pity / lifetime achievement contest. The fact that an aging player like Tim Duncan is being allowed to ride the bench simply because of what he did many years ago is downright pathetic and the NBA should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen. I mean, what ever happened to "the best player gets the job"? why should coaches and players have to feel pressured to vote for a guy like Duncan who is struggling to put up 13 points a game and play a decent amount of minutes? 5 years ago Duncan was a legit All Star and a "20 and 10" type of player. Now days he can barely play more than 25 minutes a game without getting absolutely worn out and winded ... and he is only 34 years old. He hasn't even been able to put up 20 points a game in 4 years.
There are MANY players who got shafted by this who are FAR more deserving to be in the All Star game than Duncan, but the one who I feel the worst for is Kevin Love. This kid is putting up some incredible numbers and its a shame that he is getting screwed out of his spot just because of the "good ole boys" network keeping Duncan in the game. The truth is that Duncan has absolutely no business being listed as a reserve and anyone with a brain can see this. However since MOST Spurs fans refuse to look at the facts and just blindly follow their leader with the ridiculous "minutes" and "per 36" excuse, I have decided to list several MORE DESERVING players PER 36 stats along with Duncan's. You know, since according to Spurs fans the PER 36 numbers are the only ones that count.
Tim Duncan - 16.7, 11.5, .486%
Kevin Love - 21.0, 15.2, .472%
Zach Randolph - 19.8, 13.0, .486%
David West - 19.5, 7.7, .509%
Lamar Odom - 16.3, 10.3, .566%
LaMarcus Aldridge - 19.6, 8.3, .487%
Lois Scola - 20.9, 9.1, .503%
Al Jefferson - 17.2, 9.4, .475%
Tyson Chandler - 13.1, 11.9, .662%
Emeka Okafor - 12.3, 11.3, .593%

Duncan is too classy not to make the all-star team imo.
Spurs fans don't pick the All-Star reserves, B..
Out of pity?
More like out of greatness
None of the bums you have mentioned has led his team to a championship, let alone 4
And david west is an overrated fake tough jumpshooter![]()
I was hoping he wouldn't get the nod so he could rest. In fact I was pretty sure he wouldn't be selected.
pathetic son, just pathetic![]()
lol as expected many Spurs fans resulting to childish behavior instead of just admitting the truth .... its funny how the Spurs fan base who CONSTANTLY preaches to others about how "classy" their team and fans are sure do have it backwards. Spurs fans are only "classy" whenever it is convenient for them and everything is going their way. I know many of you are better than this ....
Duncan all star lol
BR, do Spurs fans pick the All-Star reserves?..show some class, bro..
BR havent you heard of "affirmitive action" ? The best man doesnt always get the job ... LOL
and this is a wonderful example of it.
When has this idiot ever showed class?
Showing a lot of class yourself in creating a threat in some pathetic attempt to talk down the greatest PF to ever play the game...all just because your ass hurts since your boy D West wasn't picked.![]()
son what exactly does 2003, 2005, and 2007 have to do with the 2011 All Star game? you can't be that ignorant .... well yes you can. son you're the best example of Spurs fans who have it all backwards.
