Despite holding KD to like 35% in the playoffs last year, Tru Warrior still gives him his props:

He's the second best player in the NBA," Artest said of Durant, ranking the youngest scoring champion in league history behind only teammate Kobe Bryant.

"Kobe's got five rings, six game winners [last season], 23-straight points in [Game 5 of the Finals] off mostly jump shots," Artest elaborated. "[He's] the biggest shot maker, big shot maker. So, that said, Durant's the second best player in the NBA."

When asked where James ranks on his list, Artest excluded the back-to-back MVP from consideration.

"I only count to two," Artest said. "I've been out of school 15 years, so I only count to two."

"[Durant] was a hard cover for me last year," Artest said. "I had to spend a lot of extra energy carrying extra pounds, so this should at least give me more of a chance to run around [guarding him]."

Artest weighs less than 260 pounds now after coming into training camp at 268 a year ago.

"I was a little bit afraid [Durant] would average 40 on me if I came in 270 [again]," Artest said.

When informed by a member of the media that Durant actually shot well below his normal percentage in the first round of the playoffs with Artest marking him primarily (35 percent in the postseason vs. 47.6 percent during the regular season), Artest acted surprised.

"Wow ... good job, Ron," he said.

This is exactly the type of stuff LeBron needed.

He was coddled and loved too much.

Now he's going to have that chip on his shoulder, that Jordan-like " THE WORLD, IM GOING TO ANNIHILATE YOU FOR NOT BELIEVING IN ME"

Keep it coming It's going to fuel LeBron even more.

Link? Or are you pulling out of your vagina again? This post references a BSPN story dated Oct 14, 2010. He states Kobe is #1 - so how in the could B Roy be better? This is coming from a defensive monster and former DPOY. He has more cred than you and the other Kobe haters.

    Except

    1) Artest is on the Lakers, so he's a teammate

    2) Artest takes medication and sees psychiatrists regularly for his mental issues

Nothing new here, but Ron is just embedding himself deep within the pineal gland of Mr. James. Mental notes indeed.

Who gives a rat ass if LeHype is butt hurt? If he needs that for motivation he got problems. Being pissed won't give him a consistent jumper. Being pissed won't give his 6'8" 270 lb ass a post game.

Funny how Kobe said he would mop the floor with him one on one. Crickets from LeHype - because he knows Kobe has every move imaginable while Lehype has like 2 or 3 - meaning Kobe could stop him moreso than he can stop Kobe. Now Artest is calling him out. Just like Magic, Bird, MJ, Charles... you get the point. LeHype will go down as the Dominique Wilkins of his generation. He's not good enough to be compared to Scottie, tbh.

So Ron clearly says Roy is better than Kobe, which you ignore. Then he becomes a Laker and says Kobe is the best and you wet yourself.

    Typical.

If he really had that mentality then he wouldn't have opted to be a role player

That is what Kobe did by begging the Lakers to bring in a true number 1 guy in Pau. He literally cried and kicked and screamed. Then begging even more for Artest. He had to stack the deck because of his weak mindset.

LeBron is not Charles Barkley. He is too smart to piss away his career on a ty team with no help while he watches Kobe go 6-24 in a game 7 and win Finals MVP simply because he plays on the Los Angeles Lakers. The Laker franchise will make a champion out of any superstar by surrounding them with the players required to win. You have to have a team to be able to do anything.

The Lakers were gifted Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown

The Celtics got Pierce, Allen, KG

To compete with those stacked teams, you need to have a team of your own.

    Now he does. Watch out

For......? More 60+ win seasons and playoff disappointments? I'll have my popcorn ready. If the Heat do in fact reach their potential and can knock off both BOS and LAL, then I will happily give them their props. Till then LeBron is pretty much the NBA version of Tony Romo

If Roy is healthy he should definitely be better soon since Kobe is on the decline
