@5:36 DR is running back with his hands up, Timmy turns to the inbounds to play defense. Tim as cool as ice under those conditions, always remembering the situation. They could have quickly inbounded and got back while SA was celebrating.
These are the spurs I remember the most and imo were the best to watch. What a game![]()
After that Portland team added Pippen I thought for sure they were going to win a few les.
Leadership just wasn't there for that team. Also, their best player was insane, which didn't help.
Please stop posting. I'll be your best friend.

How is it when the degree of difficulty was about a 9 and he was about to fall out of bounds and probably could not see the bucket? That is one of the hardest shots I have seen in a big game.
...still, pretty sweet shot.
meh. Spurfan tends to overrate it cause it was probably the first clutch basket in franchise history.
In the end it gave them a 2-0 lead. They protected their homecourt. yay.
Please, that basket was the catalyst and epitomized that '99 Spurs team. Just like Horry's huge shot against Detroit will forever be remembered by us Spur fans. We're not the Lakers or Celtics with 30 or 40 years of championship basketball to draw upon, so we'll stick with the last 13 or 14 years.
I KNEW there was something I used to make fun of Ditty for (besides just being a dumbass).
Cool comeback, troll.
Brings back memories of The Memorial Day Massacre on May 27th, 1985. Boston thought it was the end.
Uh, uh.
Yeah, you pretty much agreed with my post. Don't compare Elliott's shot to Horry's. Not even the same goddamn arena as far as clutch is concerned.
Kinda like The Mother Day Massacre of 2011. Kobe thought it wasn't over.
Uh, uh.
No. This thread is about Memorial Day memories, Fish.
& Boston was mistaken.
It is definitely in the same realm. Without either shot the Spurs could conceivably have lost both series. The shot isn't overrated at all, but of course a Laker fan would believe so. He shot the ball without putting either heel down, tight roped the sideline and shot over the outstretched arm of 6'11'', Rasheed Wallace.
Only a complete asshole like Wallace woulda left him be after CWEBB had let him be a few years earlier.
The Spurs hit all their clutch shots on Rasheed Wallace.
Elliott's shot was against an inferior team in Game 2 of the WCF at HOME. Whoopty- in-doo!
Horry's was a GW in the pivotal Game 5 of an NBA Finals vs 2 evenly-matched goliaths. The Spurs had lost 2 straight before that shot as well, and would've likely lost that series if he doesn't sink it.
If Elliott misses that shot then they go back to Portland 1-1. Oh no!
well horry was wide ing open
