If Gasol played like a and Kobe still went into chuck mode then yeah it's possible, doubt it's a sweep though.

The Spurs match up poorly with the Lakers. Gasol/Odom would have got too many easy looks.

Anyone besides a West-less Hornets team would've beat them

I shudder to think of Bonner/Blair guarding Gasol/Bynum. It would have been Randolph/Gasol all over again. And Kobe wouldn't mind throwing everything into the post - no Finals MVP on the line.

Duncan couldn't defend Gasol like Dirk did imho. There's two sides of the court iirc.

The Spurs would not have beaten The Lakers or OK City or Dallas or Memphis.
The Spurs would have beaten Denver and NO and it would have been a toss up against Portland.

I honestly believe so. , I honestly believe only the Grizzlies would have beaten us in a 7-game series. It's unfortunate they were the ones we ended up playing regardless.

    Cue delusional Spurs fan remarks.

You mean if they had been good enough to beat Memphis?

With all these "what-ifs", I'm expecting a new Scola thread any time now.

I know it didn't mean anything against the Grizzlies but the Spurs would have had home court against the Lakers. Say what you want about Bonner/Jefferson but they are still better than the scrubs off the Lakers' bench.

I don't know if they would have, but they could have. Just because it happened to be in the first round that they met a team that could beat them doesn't mean they're truly a first-round exit team. You never know when a player or team is going to get hot or peak.
