Seriously though, why on earth would you go down there? Odds are you'll be fine, but I'd hate to be hogtied in the back of a truck trying to remember why I thought a 1 month vacation in Mexico was worth the risk, when I could have gone somewhere else.
Everyone actually hates the Zetas, they are the ones that started everything, the other drug cartels never did anything to innocent people, they were just dealing their drugs, etc.. Then when the Zetas formed thats when started getting scary, people were being kidnapped, torture, killed, etc, my aunt say, that they just go, and tell young kids to join them, the zetas, and if they decline, they shoot them on the spot. Well thats what my aunt from Mex says, but idk.
Last month my dad went to guadalajara and Puerto vallarta(hometown) for a Month. We urged him not to go but he went anyway. Came back safe. Good luck bro.

To tell you the truth, i dont really know much of that, all i know is that they say is The Zetas vs El Chapo Guzman, those are the main groups going at it, and El Chapo Guzman called out the Zetas for Killing innocents, and thats why he's now going into Zacatecas and theres war, Zacatecas belong to the Zetas but now El Chapo Guzman is fighting for it.
