1 year left at 11 mil on his Phoenix contract.
Would he take less/would Phx consider buying him out?

If the answer is yes/yes, where can Nash go to le?

    Heat?
    Mavs?
    Fakers?
Spurs? (too idiotic to get a trade Tony Parker for a good big).

Heat would be ok, but I don't see Nash as a front runner like them. Nash is a worker, smart as , and they are a bunch of running chimps with no IQ.

Maybe Knicks, playing with Mike D and Amar'e. They know each other and work well together. With Melo on the team, they could give the East a run.

nash is old as , there is no guarantee that his value won't just crash at any time, making him a terrible signing. who knows if he could go to the heat and do what he did this past year. they all fall off sometime..
Nash can still play circles around Bibby and Chalmers.
Even with those two it took massive end of game brain farts for your Mavs to squeak out wins.

just because he was better last year doesn't mean that he wont = bibby this year. everyone gets old, and everyone ages differently. one day his game will just fall off a cliff, and that day is coming sooner rather than later.

he might be a risky signing
Not gonna happen "in one day",
Name others who that happened to (not counting some blowout injury). More like gradual, which should keep him very viable for 2011-2012.

He did 14/11 last year on a crappy Phx team.

I'd like to see him either go to the Knicks or come back to Dallas to platoon with Kidd.

the point is, whenever nash's game drops just a bit, he will become totally useless faster than other players because he is a defensive liability.
He can be a good sixth man for a contender. I think he has a year or two left at his current production.

I just don't see him winning a ring, no matter where he goes. Kidd actually played D so that's why he's been so successful throughout his career. Nash doesnt play a lick of defense....

    PG Nash
SG Kidd. Plus Nash in limited minutes can be a factor. Just don't play him like your team depends on him for a heavy load. He can't do that anymore.

Maybe. But every teams opposing PG would slaughter Nash on the defensive end. Westbrook, Parker, Rose, etc....

Then you put Stevenson in the starting lineup and have Nash come off the bench. Carlisle is not afraid to change his lineup.

Nash to the Knicks for vet min after being bought out sounds very logical for both parties, especially if the next season is shortened. It would be all offense team with minimum defense, but could be quite compe ive against a reenergized & revenge seeking Bulls team and the Miami's big three.

Phoenix won't buy him out or trade him. They need to sell tickets. Only way Nash leaves the Suns is if he demands a trade and sits out.

I think somebody is going to majorly overpay Barea and it won't be us. Cuban has a rep as a big spender, but he only splurges on bigs with limited ability (Haywood, Dampier). When it comes to guards, he is more than willing to practice financial discipline.

If Nash deserved a ring, he wouldn't have signed a contract extension with a team owned by Robert Sarver. He wouldn't have endorsed Sarver's decision to let Amare leave. He's sleeping in the bed he made.

If he ever accepted a role as a spot up shooter for a team, he would help a lot of teams out. Too bad he won't ever do that.

I agree with Findog he'd be a good 6th man, but he's made it clear he values inflating his stats and dominating the ball more than he values contending for a championship. I don't feel sorry for him one bit, last season is exactly what he wants.

Didn't he sign his deal before the 09-10 season, when the Suns made the conference finals? When did he endorse Sarver's decision to let Amare walk? And do you think it's possible that he was just toeing the line publicly?

He signed an extension knowing there was a better than 50% chance Amare would leave after the 2010 season (when his original contract expired).

I have no idea why he endorsed the decision, just like I have no idea why he doesn't give two flying s about winning a championship.

EDIT: As far as WHEN he endorsed the decision, I believe it was a month or so after Amare signed with New York.

When Nash signed his extension and Amare was still on the roster, you don't think that maybe Nash valued the idea of trying one more time to win a le in a Phoenix uniform over ring chasing like Malone and Payton?

You obviously follow the Suns more closely than I do, but I think he has real loyalty to the franchise and it would mean more to him to win a le with the team that drafted him and he achieved his greatest success and in front of fans who love him, as opposed to maybe playing 20-25 minutes a night as a role player on another team? His contract is up after this upcoming season, so he still has time to ring chase.
