Cool... what are the odds of that unprecedented 4 event sequence?
Of course, the Confederations Cup is relatively new (in terms of rotating it out of Saudi Arabia) and has since been paired with the WC host nation...
But off the top of my head...
Mexico:
- 1968 Olympic Games
- 1970 World Cup
USA:
- 1993 Gold Cup (not quite at the status of the Copa America, but still the regional equivalent)
- 1994 World Cup
- 1996 Summer Olympic Games
It wasn't luck. The Copa America host stopped being a random draw a while ago, and supposedly was going to be in alphabetical order. The thing is, Bolivia is before Brazil... oops.
In a nuts , Brazil is investing a lot of dough for some of the other events, and this is a way to leverage such investment.
