It's the coming of age tale of a young Texas fisherman named Jose Patmike. He's a prodigy at bass fishing, but the death of his mother causes him to go into a tailspin. He ends up addicted to crack cocaine, sucking for money. Until one day a professor at UT-Austin (hopefully played by Robin Williams), finds young Jose and mentors him. He cleans up and competes and wins a fishing tournament, becoming the best pro bass fisher in the world.
