i didnt realize until just now that the pats are dead last in the NFL at defense in YPG. but most of that is their pass defense being absolutely atrocious.
if the Pats cant stop Oakland from running, the Raiders have a chance.
Brady will probably go for another 400 yards on the other hand. should be a fun shootout.
Pats offense is the perfect offense against Oakland.
Raiders might put up 30, but the Pats should put up 40.

that IMO is going to be the biggest battle of the game, the pats line against the Raiders monster front 4.

The Patriots interior line can be exploited, although Miami, Buffalo, and SD have done a poor job of that so far. Tommy Kelly has the potential to have a big day, but I imagine the Pats will go spread with 3-step drop passes--Seymour said that Buffalo took him and their massive D-line out of the game by playing that way. Pats can also be run on. Reggie Bush and Ryan Matthews are better receiving backs than pure rushers, but Freddie Jackson was running for a great average before they fell behind by 21. Jax ended up with something like 12 carries for 74 yards and 5 rec for 87 yards. D-Mac is much better than Jax, and the Raider O-line is better than the Bills--so their offense should do just fine. If the run game shuts down, just throw to whomever McCourty is covering
Looked good against Miami, great against San Diego (Vollmer's one game so far), and then looked like 2009 against Buffalo (largely because Vollmer was out and they only had one active tight end). A lot will depend on Vollmer being healthy.
If the Raiders get interior pressure they have a great shot at winning.
Protection was the least of the pats worries this last Sunday. It wasn't great but it was good enough to keep Brady clean. None of his picks came due to protection issues. They were run blocking well too (Woodhead wouldn't just hit the hole).
Tbh, I expect another 45-41 game or something ridiculous like that.
Hahah, the Chargers game is blacked out so we get the Raiders in almost all of California.

I have a feeling, even though it's totally unlikely, that this is gonna be a strange game with a final score of like 17-13, with both teams playing sloppy and the game being decided on a miracle kick return or something.

On the flip side, it probably wasn't smart to cut Alge and both of the young tight ends (Yeatman and Smith) they had competing for the 3rd tight end spot in training camp. Having only one active tight end and a receiving corps isn't a good mix.
