It's too late to shed Walton & too early to shed Blake.
Just dance with who brung us.
Spurs fans are obviously hoping to rid themselves of Richard Jefferson and his asinine contract, but it's hard to say if that will really play out, at least immediately. Cutting Jefferson, for all his faults, would leave Spurs with very few options at small forward. At that point, they'd either be forced to try to bring in somebody new with limited resources (since dumping Jefferson would barely put them under the cap if at all, they'd probably have to use their MLE on a replacement, go back into the tax, and neglect other needs), or they would be left relying on an inexperienced and slightly undersized James Anderson, or throwing an even greener rookie in Kawhi Leonard into the fire.
Other options would be Antonio McDyess, who may not even return on a player option and wouldn't return if he was just going to be cut, but otherwise would be overpaid for what he will probably bring to the table (veteran leadership, and a serviceable but ancient big), or the wishful-thinking of Matt Bonner, who doesn't have a huge contract, but it is pretty lengthy for a guy who only does one thing well and has been a perennial playoff disappointment.
Who do you think gets the cut, and who do you personally want gone from your team?

Baron Davis, Gilbert Arenas, Rashard Lewis, Rip Hamilton, Brendan Haywood.
Possibly Brandon Roy.
Ya aint been brung yet paw.
Yeah, like the Spurs are really going to send their franchise savior packing.
Way too classy for that tbh fwiw.
I'd be surprised if the Lakers cut World Peace (lmao, thats just is too ridiculous to pass up).
He may be an overpaid nut job, but he bailed Kobe out in Game 7 with those threes.
Business move. Do you REALLY think he's worth $20M? I don't.
Statistically, no. But after 4 les, he's earned it. I'll consider it a severence package.
If the above list is correct, it would happen, and the Lakers would reacquire Ariza. Ariza/Barnes/Kobe would hold the SF down rather nicely - with Ebanks being grooms and waiting in the wings. In this scenario, Luke voluntarily retires.![]()
Consider it a payment for winning us '99 on his rookie deal...
We're likely done until a full tank + rebuild process. Nothing wrong with letting him and Manu have their farewell tour before then.
You don't have an MBA do you? He is not worth $20M. You guys need to amnesty him for the financial betterment of your franchise. Why pay him all of that cheddar if you guys won't even sniff the WCF - let along the Finals?
If Kobe is playing statistically as poor as Duncan, Dr. Buss won't hesitate to 86 him. Just look at what he did to Shaq as proof. I mean, Shaq had way more in the tank than Duncan does right now because went on to rang with D-Whistle. But make no mistake, Dr. Buss made the right decision. He ordered a tanked season (to draft Bynum), acquired Pau, and two rangs later, other owners were so pissed they caused a lockout to try to stop the Lakers.![]()
I blame the lockout on players like Duncan. I think he should be on America's Most Wanted for stealing $20M from a small market team.![]()
Ban me.![]()
I'd love to see Childress amnestied but no way Babby gives up on his ass buddy so quickly.
If the Suns were smart they'd amnesty Childress then use Nash as a trade chip to shed Warrick and Frye, then tank for Andre Drummond. Role players w/ long term contracts will be even more albatross with the new CBA.
...that would be the "new CBA" that you guaranteed would be won overwhelmingly by the players.
I don't know why I'm gonna do this because I'm worse ed than most since you were horribly mistaken, but, you were wrong, butt buddy, so I'm gonna do it nonetheless...![]()
I guaranteed there'd be no hard salary cap. You can't find any post of me saying that because I never said it.
Btw the fact you're doing this shows how butthurt you are over me constantly bringing up your re ed 2011 Suns predictions.

Shipping out Amare was genius though.... I saaaaaaiiidddddd
I'm a trend setter.
I set trends.
You said it. And you're livin' with it, daddy-O. And that is just the way it's gonna be. I have to live with the results of that new structure, but, you ain't gettin' away with your end of the equation. Uh, uh.
Not by a jugful you ain't.
Nash & Hedo will be the goods, fortifying each other from the opening bell. Childress will blossom under the tutelage of Nash, as will Warrick. JRich is in his contract year.
^Welcome back, Axe.
Don't stay away so long next time.
tee, hee.
i don't get this "welcome back" schtick tbh
