It's sad how some people seek children as targets for sexual stimulation. How the do these people even get the thought to run through their heads? Every day I hear something about sexual assault on children, whether it be on a national level or local level.
The other day, it hit home hard. A former colleague of mine whom I conducted research with back in my undergrad years was convicted of sexual assault on a child. The guy admitted to it and is behind bars waiting for his final verdict. No joke, I never thought I'd see something like this be condoned by my former colleague. It's makes me sick as tbh. More times than not, you don't know anything about a person. It's just ing sad how cruel this world is and how sick people like that exist in an alarming quan y.

Having kids now, I can't imagine what would run through my mind as a father, much less as a healthcare provider if one of those s ever showed up at my clinic. Ethics, ethics......
Anytime a national scandal like the Penn State thing happens there's a storm of allegations from people who were too scared to tell someone when it originally happened but the national incident reminded them when they'd originally moved on/gave them courage.
A teacher at an all boys catholic high school in Phoenix was just fired amid allegations (lol more Catholic-related molestation charges)

My sister is a pediatrician and has no problem calling the authorities whenever she finds evidence of sexual assault on the patients she tends to... She says the signs are pretty unmistakable, but because of the seriousness of such an allegation she makes sure with absolute certainty that her observations, the child's comportment, and physical trauma all indicate that the child has been a victim of inappropriate sexual contact... over the last 10 years or so 2 relatives of the children she has treated have gone to prison for sexual molestation of minors...
+1...see child abuse cases all the time in EMS. One of my former co-workers pushed a guy (who had burned his kid in the face w/ a cigarette) down a flight of stairs at his house when he responded to such a call. Needless to say, he got fired and charges were pressed.

It's bad indeed but those kids can usually heal. I heard of a case where 3 girls 6, 9, 11 all had STD's - Ghonorrea in particular and they got it from their dad. Dude was from Columbia.

Kids are not sexy, so it must be that having power/control over someone translates into sexual stimulation for them. Its probably something they experienced as a kid and it gave them a skewed definition of how adults are supposed to enjoy sex. Tragic.
I was just thinking about this last night. What sort of trauma/warping does someone experience to attract them to innocent children? It's obviously irresistible for them.
Last time a story came out like this about some female teacher having sex with a 13yr old or something like that my wife suggested legalizing pros ution. She was like "if pros ution was legal people would go to some hooker and not mess with the kids" I was like ...you mean people still rape other adults?

Not trying to bash any cultures or lifestyle but why is child molestation is so high here in America compared to other countries?
I mean, children here always need adult supervision when they play in the streets or the playground. Compared to the country I grew up, even today, children just play in the streets til the evening sometimes and you barely see any child abuse (sexually related) cases in the news.
Some are going to say that it's just more reported here and people are more aware. This is the same response that some give when asked why has child molestation become more prevalent than in the past.
But I think people here are more ed up now than in the past and maybe than other less "developed" countries. I really have no idea as to why. My guess is that it's a combination of several factorss, from social to biological, to chemical, to physical.

Sorry to hear that. I had that same kinda deal happen with a buddy I went to high school with. Not a colleague, mind you. He was busted with tons of child pornography on his computer. I couldn't believe it. No one ever suspected, obviously. He was a funny guy. Had a good family life. Had a great relationship with his mom and sister. Apparently their dad left them when they were young but no one ever knew that until you asked him or it came up. In summary, there wasn't any indication of great dysfunction in the family and especially with him. He was the guy that could have a good time anywhere and would get everyone involved so everyone would have a good time. He was married for some time, as well. I was completely shocked when I got the news of it. He was busted with lots and lots of that stuff on his computer. I didn't understand it and still don't. Yes I was disgusted by it, but at the same time I was sad for him. I can't imagine what he had to go through to get to that point. I don't know. That'll probably sound weird to a lot of people being that it involves kids, but that's just what I feel about him and the situation. I don't dismiss his action(s) that he's done because he did it, its inexcusable and was wrong. People just surprise you sometimes. Do you think it's because sex here is so casual that people are starting to look for different avenues to get back the thrill of sex?
While I think that may be the cause for a lot of the perversion going on today, I don't think that is the reason for a large increase in child molestation (if there really is a large increase). I don't understand how somone would get off by pooping on someone else or being pooped on. But I would think they still want an attractive partner to do this with. I don't think that child molesters go through any kind of progressive perversions. I can't understand how anyone thinks a child is sexy.
