Young and very long small forward. Career 9pppg and 35% 3PFG. Never really reached his potential but is still 27 and entering his prime. Think we should go after him for a change of scenery at SF? He's very long at 6'9" with long arms with heaps more defensive upside then RJ. Get him to focus on defense and crashing the boards, we'd have lesser expectations from him then the high hopes we had for RJ. Played all 82 games last season. Think he'd be a low risk signing with probably a descent reward. Think we should go after him?

He'll already get paid the approximately 9 million he's owed by the Nets though? Or most of it? The should sign with us for all. These greedy turds don't need so much cash.

    maybe a few years ago.

Bringing him in now only takes playing time away from JA and KL.

He can't sign a new contract unless no one claims him in the amnesty auction. To make a bid in the amnesty auction a team needs capspace. The Spurs have no capspace and therefore will not get him in the auction. Someone will bid on him, and the Spurs will therefore not get him. QED

Who's going to claim him? What team has not yet signed a SF out from underneath our noses?

Thanks for the info did not know that. Thanks for the straight up answer. Better then the other's who just 'lol' n talk sarcastic . Some of us have jobs and a life and don't have time for all the in's and out's of all this kinda stuff. Thought they coulda just signed him for the minimum and paid extra luxury tax on top of that. From what you said i suppose we could still do that if he isn't claimed in the amnesty auction?

    What big is available that:

    A. Wouldn't lock up the Spurs with a lot of money for the next few years.

    B. Is an improvement over Blair.

    C. Is expendable according to their team's depth or compe ive situation.

    D. Has a salary between 4-8 million (McDyess/Blair being the main trade chips).

There's a select few that fit that criteria. At the same time, the Spurs proposal has to be pretty damn attractive.

The timing can't get any worse to do a move for Outlaw.

Outlaw will clear waivers only after the amnesty deadline. If Spurs want to go after him, they will have to waive RJ in the dark and hopes nobody claims him form waivers and that he will pick Spurs over other teams.

Regardless of that, it's highly likely a team will claim him form waivers. The fact that he has a long term contract actually increase the odds of that because a team can have him on a bargain salary locked for 4 years. If I were a GM of a team below the cap, claiming Outlaw for $1.5M or even $2M per year is a no brainer.

This damnit! I don't care for a wing, our perimeter players are fine. Its our front line that needs a help but really, we have no one to think of that can help and can only be done through a trade.

If nobody else does I'll claim him on my fantasy team so the Spurs can't have him!

Be a great pick up. Still young, great defender, 3pt shooter.....in our system he would be great. Putting him and KL on the floor at the same time would be a nightmare for teams.
    Namely, the Spurs.
