Maybe they're just complacent.
Having lost it last night, the mavs are now 0-2 into this season, which ain’t a good start for the defending champions. The home defeat to Miami was a real bitter result, the fans/players were disappointed and its impact seemed to have extended beyond the Christmas Eve as the mavs received another Loss right at home last night at AAC.
Players were not yet ready for the new season, it seems, and it may take some time before the old legs return to 100% fit. It doesn’t matter if you lose a game, or two, but the lack of ambition they displayed in these two games was quite an ominous sign that needs to be discerned.
They won the championship last season, but lost the ambition to win, or maybe they never had the hunger to win another one. The players are all one year older and it is one thing that must be taken into account, but I don’t think the one-year difference could make such a huge difference in their games. Losing Chandler was HUGE and it must be a lie if you say it doesn’t have no impact on this team, but even if we had kept this n!gga on team it would still be quite difficult to win those two games that we just lost, with the low level of ambition that we had.
Team selection & tactics:
In the old years we were used to see an average player (Antonie Wright, Lincoln etc…) started alongside Jason Kidd on our backcourt, and the starting 2 could get his job done well most times (at least could avoid being the weakest link). However, it doesn’t make much sense to continue with this tactic when 3/4 of your team is made up of n!ggas playing 1, 2 or 3.
Haywood used to be a solid player and that was the main reason why he signed with dem mavs in the midseason 09-10, and was offered such a lucrative contract when the season ended. Maybe he was just upset he was tripped of the starting position as TC arrived, and played rather slackly as a reserve. Now with TC gone he was supposed to be happy again and was expected to play MUCH better, but he failed to re-impress the dallas fans and became an epitome of the team’s lack of ambition.

Like I've said...End of the lockout caught Mavs off guard. They're fat and 1 year older. They've become lazy in these 5 months, eating pork and babysitting grandchildren at home. Dirk hasn't been practicing from the end of Eurobasket until December. Marion is out of shape and lazy, and when that n!gga is lazy he's worthless because he can't shoot. Kardashian is like 30 pounds overweight plus he's a mental midget still living in LA in his dreams. Kidd is done tbh. I don't understand these 60 year olds still wanting to play NBA basketball. You've got ing grandchildren to watch and fish to catch, go yourself out of the spotlight allready. Haywood is just an overpaid scrub. You can't expect nothing from him as he won't deliver . Carter is a bitter re , no point in losing sleep over that hole. Jet is the only one that is looking somewhat in shape tbh but he's a limited player.
That said, expect bloodbath through January Mavfan.
Championship hangovers happen. The Mavs are pretty unlucky to have it in a season with a labor stoppage and a short time to prepare, followed by games against pretty good teams to start off. They'll get it together.
Only pussies & assholes use the luck card.
He shot 10%
