Eh, Verizon has neutered this phone. Its not on Sprint so I'm not excited. I hope if Spring does get it then it doesn't have disabled services like on Verizon.

what exactly did they do?
Off the top off my head I know the disabled the NFC feature (for google wallet because they are developing a competing service) and have put some bloatware on the phone. Nexus phones are specifically NOT supposed to have bloatware.
Nfc is still there. Android beam which uses nfc is still there. The only thing that is not there is the google wallet app. The gsm version does not have google wallet too. The euro, canadian versions do not have it too. It just does not come preinstalled. You can manually install it.
In terms of bloatware, only 2 additional apps are installed. It's the my verizon app to chek ur verizon acct and to chek ur data usage. You can easily disable them.
Verizon has blocked Google Wallet. It won't work on their phones.
300 on contract, what a nightmare. i want to avoid contracts. guess my 550 mhz will have to continue to chug along. its like im watching people take jets to destinations and im traveling on horseback.

dude there's pawn shops and craigslist,, theres also a website to check the serial number to see if the phone is stolen. I don't know what it is but you carrier store might. You obviously wont get a new phone but you probably could find something. even radio shack sells refurbed phones. Sprints got refurbed heros for 80. Just call them and tell em you want to buy it outright no contract renewal. Cause they will you over

Big Red confirmed as much in yesterday's under-the-radar announcement, but we're now receiving reports that some users are being prompted to update their LTE-enabled Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.0.2. It's taking around two to three hours after activation for the update to hit, with ICL53F bringing an optimized mobile hotspot when used with VPN, a few notification fixes and visual improvements to the lock screen. It'll also now automatically reconnect to known WiFi access points, and those wonky email attachment issues that a few folks were having are gone. Oddly, DivX support has actually been yanked, though the company promises to support it "in a future upgrade" -- we're guessing the support that was baked in simply had too many issues to go to market with. It weighs in at 10.7MB; let us know how your installation goes in comments below.
so i see websites like letstalk and amazon offering the phone significantly less. Anyone know the pros and cons other then waiting an extra week?
This phone is amazing!
Wrong. You can manually install it. You dont even need to be rooted. http://androidforums.com/samsung-gal...ot-needed.html

Looks like the honeymoon is ending a little early for some Galaxy Nexus users -- a pair of RootzWiki threads say that the device is struggling to maintain mul ouch in some situations. Apparently the bug is repeatable, booting up a mul ouch game like Gun Brothers or Shadow Gun will put the lower right hand portion of the smartphone's touchscreen in a finicky mood. We gave the glitch a go on a couple of different handsets, and were indeed thwarted by the touchscreen's tantrum. Turning the Nexus' screen on and off seems to fix the problem -- at least until you jump into your next game -- and the bug only seems to appear when the device is in landscape mode. This is likely a software bug, but until it's fixed, we'll just have to take it one touch at a time.
Thats good i dont play that game.
I already have 3 friends switching to Android after playing with my nexus.
What did you do with your S II?
it was merely informatory.
4.0 is amazing. I noticed that little small details that makes things so much easier compared to gingerbread and ios5. The screen quality is top notch. The only downfall is still the battery life, though my 4g hitting 28mb is awesome!
