Well, no matter how bad they are, their new coach will always be Smart.
The Sacramento Kings today relieved Paul Westphal of his head coaching duties, according to President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Current Kings’ assistant coach Keith Smart will serve as head coach in tonight’s game versus the Milwaukee Bucks.
“I want to thank Paul for all of his effort on behalf of the Kings,” said Petrie. “Unfortunately, the overall performance level of the team has not approached what we felt was reasonable to expect. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
In two-plus seasons as head coach of the Kings, Westphal amassed a record of 51-120.

Not totally unexpected. And its not just the Cousin's situation.. He lost the ears of a lot of the players on that team and the fanbase hated the guy. Seemed more logical to see him fired than to give up on Cousins. Although Cousins might be next to go because hes proven to be a significant problem thus far.
Westphal was a coach in Phoenix and was a coach in Sacramento. Good move.

David thorpe called it on one of his ESPN chats this week said Paul would go before they let a talent like Cousins walk ...
Keith Smart is America's Interim Coach.
Cousins is just acting like a to piss Sac fans off so they don't vote to pay for a new arena, thereby forcing the team into the LA Junior market.
Real Talk. He also had only one good year at Pepperdine Univ. (1st year). It was all downhill from there.
Westphall will coach again...he is actually a good coach...
when he resurfaces and begins to post a respectable record...everyone here will look stupid.
Cousins is a re ed and he will bring down that franchise-and they deserve it.
