QB sneak fail
Both QBs were taken in the 1st round of the 2008 draft.
Both QBs had good (not great) rookie years as game managers on playoff teams and were both crowned future franchise QBs with the assumption being made they'd get way better.
Since then, they've regressed, still have the skill level of a game manager, yet act like and think they're franchise QBs.
I ask you, NFL forum, which one is more overrated?
Btw my pick is Matt Ryan. Joe Flacco is still talked about like he's a great QB but a good amount of people have figured how out flawed of a QB he is, people still talk about Matt Ryan like he's the savior of the Falcons' franchise and use that dumb nickname "Matty Ice" falsely implying Ryan is clutch.
Ryan is more overrated.
Everyone realizes Flacco isn't that great, but the Ravens defense and Rice get alot of attention.
However there's this perception that Ryan is very good even though he has good skilled players and an underrated defense.
Matt Ryan, tbh. N1gga can't make a game changing play to save his life. You always expect him to short arm a pass in a crucial down.
Matt Ryan...guy has every weapon you could want. Two great WR's, great TE, great RB, and above-average O-line.
This is the make or break year for both of them imo. The one positive sign about Flacco is he's played his best against the best teams this year (6-0 against winning teams)
Using two receiving tight ends (Dixon and Pitta) more has helped Flacco a lot but he's still very overrated. Anquan Boldin was more productive receiver with Matt Leinart than what he is with Joe Flacco.
I actually think Flacco is pretty good and clutch he just has random super ty games against awful teams for some reason. Kind of like a Roethlisberger without the rings.
I never really thought Ryan was any good and he is surrounded by a ton of good weapons
I don't think the media hypes Flacco that much. He's typically portrayed as a lynch pin who's flaws cost Baltimore as often as his strengths help them.
Matt Ryan has the nickname "Matty Ice" and hasn't ever done a thing to justify it. He's average vs. good teams and pretty good vs. bad teams. That's not that difficult.
As DeadlyDynasty said, he's got everything a QB needs for a devastating offense and routinely comes up short when it matters.
The most frustrating thing about Flacco is his propensity to sit in the pocket forever without chucking it. Dude looks like Drew Bledsoe back there sometimes
One big flaw I see in Flacco is how poorly he does when the other team drops 7 or 8 into coverage which tells me he's not capable of doing much more than taking what the defense is giving him.
Ryan is worse though since he can't even take what the defense is giving him. He forces plays that aren't there.
Exactly. When the other team drops 7 or 8 into coverage he's extremely hesitant and holds the ball too long.
I think the Ravens are undefeated when Ray Rice gets 20+ carries. If they stick to that formula and Cam Cameron stops trying to get cute, they will win the AFC imo
Flacco is more overrated..
Everybody is starting to realize that Matt Ryan sucks, as we have been saying for a minute..
Flacco still receives credit and hype, as if he's anything more than a game manager with a stacked team..he also runs his mouth, as if he's a relevant player, tbh..
The fact that the Ravens lose when Ray Rice isn't carrying the offense is clear evidence that Flacco is a game manager, and nothing more..
You say everybody is starting to realize how Matt Ryan sucks, but watch the ESPN analysis of this game not mention how much Matt Ryan s up on audibles and trying to do too much. They'll say something like, "It wasn't Matty Ice's best game but he had no turnovers and did his job!"
Most NFL forum posters know how flawed both QBs are, I was more referring to the general public/media.
Maybe, I don't watch too much ESPN and whatever, tbh..
I'm basing it on NFL fans that I interact with, along with fans on forums..
Either way, after this game, Ryan's stock is probably going downhill..
