How are the Oakland Carr's not #1?
Cowboys are 4th, Broncos #1.

Bettis salty as in this videoBroncos dont deserve it
Edit: Sports Illustrated poll
"This surveyed 2500 people, 1200 knowing what football is"
Out of the top 10, the only ones I remotely like are Packers, 49ers, and Saints.
The Niners/Cowbots/Steelers the most succesful teams in the Superbowl era. Those three have played in about 20 having won 16.
Everyone knows Carolina is America's team.
and we all know who the President is..
Cat newton?
No ing way the Broncos are "America's team". I guess just because they've got Peyton...they're America's team? Were they America's team when Tebow was at the helm?
The Dallas Cowboys are still America's team. And it pains me deeply to say that....I hate the freakin Cowboys. But EVERYBODY in America who follows football keeps up with them. They are the New York Yankees of the NFL. You either love them or hate them...but no matter which one it is....you keep up with and follow them.
^Yep. The cowboys will always be americas team. You either love them or hate em, alot like America for that matter.
It's the Peyton bandwagon that came over from the Colts. ESPN has already declared him the greatest QB of all time. They run vignettes during other games just to make sure you know who the best QB is.
they are voting for Peyton Manning which is why the Giants got 2nd place, people voted for the wrong Manning.
I wouldn't want any team I like to carry that designation.
This is probably so true that it's sad, tbh.![]()
not a whole lot you can do about it![]()
The Cowboys bandwagon is already picking up a full head of steam after Sunday. With the Cowboys expected to be the favorites for the next 3 games, imagine the hype when they are sitting at 8-1 atop the NFC.
But why would I want to? I generally have disdain for these types of franchises. Yankees, Lakers, but not so much the Cowboys because they've sucked for so long. The Yankees have sucked a lot as of late as well, and the Lakers too come to think of it![]()
I actually pity the Cowboys for the most part due in large part because of their ownership, and it's sad that a storied franchise is so excited over having a one loss season to date. That's something that generally should be reserved for the Kansas City Royals of the sports world. But hey, things change![]()
Why is it sad that the fan base is excited? Like you said, we have sucked for so long, being a .500 over the last 15 ing years.
You should know exactly the feeling as a Seahawks fan.
I think there is a difference between getting excited and proclaiming Super Bowl or even NFC East le 6 games in.
Only our histories are very different. And I refuse to believe there to be any sort of humble nature in the vast majority of these sorts of fan bases. Lets say the Cowboys get back on a roll, make the playoffs a few times consecutively, and , even win a SB. You just know that same mentality will re-emerge and the base will be just as they once were, obnoxious. And you can see it now actually, just after a few wins, and a victory obviously that means the world to them as if it's a validation of some sort.
The fan base is obnoxious, but IMO it's these idiots who are from the opposite end of the country and decide they want to cheer for the most popular team, but as "die hard fans". I think your letting this big group of idiots ruin it for realistic fans.
I've seen it first hand in Texas. It was quite repulsive actually. But it's true that in all bases there are people that ruin the perception for the whole. It doesn't change the fact that they conjure up perceptions, and those perceptions stick because, they are true due to the fact that they exist.
It's kind of a catch-22 with this though. The Cowboys' haters continually rub it whenever the Cowboys' lose, so in turn when the Cowboys win the fans do it back to the haters. It's an endless cycle, tbh.
There's some truth to that, but one caused the other. So I can't necessarily be upset at someone shoving it down their throat because of what they started. It's pretty much getting what they were asking for. It's more about the fan base. There has never been a player on the Cowboys I didn't like, as opposed to the Lakers or Yankees. It's really about the fans for this particular franchise. While the Lakers I just don't like at all, players included (Yankees too).
i am saying cowboys fans can't really do anything about the perception of their team as America's team, just how it is. I've been watching since the early 80s and it was already like det![]()
Ah, I see. I thought you were directing that towards me. Yeah that's certainly true, can't do anything about that.
