Spurs handle Blazers 99-83
San Antonio – With the Portland Trail Blazers down by two to start the fourth quarter, the San Antonio Spurs elected to erupt on a 14-0 run that ended being enough cushion to down the Blazers (7-4) 99-83.
The Blazers got off to a fast start like Coach McMillan wanted scoring 31 points in the first quarter to the Spurs' 27. The problem was that the Spurs (8-4) withstood the Blazers' initial run and held the Blazers to 16 in the second quarter to go into the second half on top 50-47.
Tiago Splitter who averages 6.7 points per game, did his best Tim Duncan impression scoring 12 points in a pivotal third quarter.
Tonight's defeat would come with another loss. Marcus Camby suffered an ankle sprain with four minutes left in the second quarter and was helped to the locker by Nolan Smith and Chris Johnson. He would not return and X-rays came up negative for fractures. He listed as day-to-day.
LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 29 points and 7 rebounds.
Bench play was key as the Spurs outscored the Blazers' bench 45-18.

LOL 1st in the West Blazers ...
Blazers are not as good as they look against us. They get a "stiffy" when they see purple in the Rose Garden.
Nice win Spurs.
Tlong wrong about dem Blazers![]()
Good game, we played horrible. Hope Manu recovers fast, otherwise it's boring![]()
Spurs just beating a team they are supposed to beat.
i had the portland feed on my laptop it was delayed and muted, every time the Spurs did something good I turned that sum up, just to hear those assholes squirm
Blazers losing games they are supposed to lose. Waiting for injuries to happen to players that are supposed to be injured.
We lost. The refs gave the Spurs every advantage and they took advantage. Congrats to them.![]()
Yeah, I mean having both of our starting bigs in foul trouble is just IDEAL.
The refs were so bad they let you shoot 5-18 from 3.
