    For years it has been known that the most effective way to see detail is to keep the eyes constantly moving and not to focus. The adage among pilots has always been to "keep your eyes moving and your head on a swivel"...this is a very cool illustration to prove that point.

    I noticed this when I was doing an eye test last year. As I kept focusing on one thing, I noticed everything around started to get dark. When I blinked or moved my eyes, everything "reappeared".

    When I'm driving I always keep looking in my blindspots and mirrors. Helps me keep focused on the road and what's around me in case of emergency. When I stop (like driving home from work at night when I'm tired) I either see really funny things or I don't see my surroundings (off the highway) at all.
