Didn't see this elsewhere (but certainly could have missed it.)

Henry Abbott says:
The headline is a line I stole from David Thorpe. And it's true! Being well-rested makes you a better compe or.
Gregg Popovich understands better than most coaches. John Hollinger (Insider):
San Antonio doesn't have a single player averaging as many as 30 minutes a game, and while this is partly because Gregg Popovich punted the second half of the Houston game, it's also because he's the best in the league at managing the big picture. Don't say we didn't warn you when Manu Ginobili comes back and the Spurs suddenly reel off a 15-2 stretch against a slew of weary opponents.
we see what happens t ommarow...lol
Unless we come out shooting 3's at a scorching rate, I expect tomorrow's game to be a glorified practice for Dallas, tbh
Exactly what I was preaching in my thread.
Wtf? Dallas has looked unbelieveably ty this year. They're basically the 2006 Heat, a le team of cir stance, not substance.
Chazley they will be tough to beat tomorrow cot damnit lol, keep on thinking this will be an easy win but it will not be.
We're gassed. Takes a lot of energy to play catchup and we played catchup all game long tonight. Plus as "horrible" as Dallas has been, I expect them to play better than GSW, being that's a Texas rivalry of sorts.
Personally, I think we're going to need an unbelievable shooting night to pull it off.
As usual, I'll be happy to eat crow if it pans out any different.
I never doubt Pop's ability to put some wins together. It's putting a winning team together that seem to be the problem.
If this game is won its because of our bench.
I liked our bench in general so far. I've been pointing out they've been playing better than our starters outside of Manu.
But no, I'm not ready to proclaim "watch out NBA" so far.
Spurs at home against the Mavericks... Spurs could be playing their 3rd game in 3 nights, they would have more than enough energy feeding off the crowd to get through the game. The arena was electric tonight against the Warriors, and I have no doubt it will be the same way against the Mavs.
The guys played alot of minutes tonight, but I'm confident they'll be ok this early in the season.
I agree the arena should be electric... at least to start the game.
You could definitely be right. Just my opinion that the Mavs are playing so bad right now, we could beat them giving less than 100% effort.
You obviously haven't been watching Dallas this year. and LOL acting like they are any younger than we are. They played tonight as well you know.
2 veteran teams coming off a b2b, we're at home but without our best player. Dallas by 3 or 4 seems like a logical pick but lol at glorified practice.
To be frank, I haven't seen much of them. That said, being a Spur fan and having nightmares of Dirk ting on Bonner are par the course the last few seasons (with perhaps the exception of Dice two seasons ago, but he's gone now).
If the last back2back is any indication, Tim shouldn't even suit up, tbh.
Dallas should destroy the Spurs tonight. I agree with ElNono. On paper, Dallas should run the Spurs out of the building. Odom also had a very efficient game last night for them (finally) going 6/12 from the floor in just 23 minutes.
Odom has always been tough for the Spurs to cover, and judging by how tough the GSW game was, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs lose by 9-10 points.
I hope we can be proven wrong, as it would be nice to build on last night's win. I also hope Green/Splitter get more minutes than Anderson/Bonner.
Spurs are at home, so they won't be run out of the building by an older team that played the night before as well ... Spurs might lose, but I don't expect a blowout
The front line matchups aren't good Mavs have Odom (6'10), Heywood (7') and Nowitski(7') with Mahinmi (6'11), Wright (6'11" and Cardinal (6'9") in reserve. Mahinmi has been getting some good burn and has played with a lot of energy for them and his days of being a foul machine seem over.
We counter with Duncan (7' going on 6'8") Blair (6'8") and RJ (6'8") with Splitter (6'11)Bonner (6'10), Leonard (6'8") and Diogu (6'9") in reserve.
Pop may start Splitter to get some more height into the starting front line, but if I'm Jason Kidd I go with passes into the paint to my bigs and let them go to work on our front line. Carlisle will want to see if basketball is still a game of who's got the best big men.
Matchups are everything and they have some advantage in physical attributes as well as skills.

the compressed season is a great formula to keep the $Bs flowing to the owners and cause numerous injuries to player-slaves, while delivering a tier (fatigued, injured) product to the fans.
They are taller but definetly not tougher maybe they win tonight, we'll see. But the minute they let chandler walk they went back to being the same old pussies they've always been. It will be rough without Manu but we matched up well with them last season. I truely believe we would've beat them in the playoffs.
Pop has already decided to tank the Dallas game because he knew GS was beatable
He had to pick one
no, the way he played the bench he knew the game was over and hoping something will come out of the bench with playing time, he really wanted to rest the starters for the dallas game....untill the bench lit a fire under his ass that the game was winnable...
honestly, duncan should sit tonight. even if he is better than he was against HOU, the Mavs frontcourt is a matchup nightmare for the Spurs.
Nowitzki/Odom might be the two toughest players the spurs can match up with in the league.
Timmy's decline in the post also means he can't make them pay on the offensive end.
Parker is going to have to put up 30+ for us to have a chance tonight.
We must tank. We need to draft the next superstar that will make this team relevant for the next 12 years.
True true
