expected, now that tj is back
He won't be missed.
This tells me Manu's playing tomorrow for sure.
Good, though the PG spot is ridiculously stacked right now. Hopefully he can pick up some ball handling from Johnson. He's coming off the bench tonight as Johnson and Detmon start together.
Both glad and sad to see him go. I did enjoy seeing him play, as he was gradually (though extremely slowly) beginning to improve and he helped keep the team afloat while here. Hoping he gets much better over the rest of the season so he can make a difference next year for the Spurs. Suffice to say I don't want to see him back here until then (as it'd mean there's another injury).
He seemed like a good kid. The other players clearly liked him. He also looked to be interested in trying to learn in the brief moments I caught Pop and players talking to him.
Hopefully he can improve and make a career somewhere. Its a risk coming out so early and he does not have a college degree. I wonder if the NBA has some program to thoroughly explain the consequences of not taking advantage of getting your way paid in school. Acchhhh... it does not matter. Most of them go to big schools to get to the pros and nothing else. And a good number did so poorly in HS they are in over their heads at a place like Texas if they major in something besides Gym Maintenance.
He's got at least another season with the Spurs, so don't worry about his career yet. He's where he should be right now.
Do you guys think he is crying...
No not merely crying, sobbing...
So far, he played SG and barely has the ball in his hands. Hopefuly, he will have it more after some practices with the Toros to fix that.
On a side note, Anthony Vereen is awesome. I'm a fan.
So Spurs are now standing 12 men roster, and one slot left for potential waiver ?
Joseph playing better right now but that's an ugly game.
lol those 6'6" Southland centers are always entertaining.
Toros almost made an unbelievable come-back.
So, Joseph wasn't bad but he really needs to do more while he is in D-League. He especially needs to take more shoots from the perimeter. He should drive a little more too.
By watching him closely, I find that he has bulked up since the training camp. He looked way better physically than few months ago.
He needs PT, and he was just too green right now. I hope the Spurs display some patience with him. One year of college simply does not cut it for most players. A McDonald's All-American doe not make someone an NBA player and one year at UT (30-35 college games) is not enough seasoning to play against 25-30 year old pros.
He needs a summer and full training camp and we may know a lot more where things stand this time next year.
The not so funny thing is that every time i look at Draft Express they keep showing us drafting a PG/SG in round one and a PG in round two..WTF?
Well the first sentence written in a bold font on their mock draft page is:
"Team needs have NOT yet been taken into account in this mock draft."
Mock drafts will start to look at what teams needs after the draft lottery (May 30th this year).
You draft the best player available. If there's a SG left who grades out an 88, and a center who grade out at 75, you draft the SG.
