Hanging the foot out the window is equally dumb.
I can't stand it when people do this.On my way home from work I turned I saw two nasty ass bare feet pushing on a windshield.You could see smear marks on the glass.I can't be the only this bothers.

Agree it's a chick thing.
Short chick thing, specifically. I'd have to twist myself into a pretzel to get my feet on the dash.
But, then, I like being the driver. So it's not an option anyway.
I can understand if it's on the highway because there's a chance they've been driving a while. I do that all the time whenever I'm on a long trip but I don't touch the windshield unless I'm wearing socks

How ing tall are you? I'm 6'1 and I don't have a problem
Men typically carry their height in their torso, rather than legs, so that's not terribly surprising. I'm just under 6', so shorter than you, but I'm guessing I have longer legs.
Seat belt would have helped a lot there.
