Well they fixed the connection so yeah its back but this game is far from GOW 1 where its shotgun shotgun shotgun. In gow 3 you can pretty much get killed by anything and it seems fair.I hear the shotty is back.
S/O is a though hope they fix it.
I loved the shotty in Gears 1. They ed it up in gears 2 so i pretty much gave up on that game.

Been thinking about picking this one up, would require dusting off my 360 though.
Had a blast playing the first two coop. Will be picking this one up soon hopefully.
I beat it yesterday with online co-op, I never played the second one other than probably twice, since I don't own an XBOX.. but beating it was fun. Beat Beast mode on one map and that was fun, I'm on 36 on horde mode in another map.. it's a fun game..

Really? This has to be the most balanced GOW game ever. Maybe this game just isn't for you.
I expected this game to make more of a ripple.
Picked it up yesterday. Never played 1 or 2. First impression is the campaign is boring as . MP is fun as though.
Multiplayer is hard ass . People always seem to 1 shotty me but it takes me about 5 shotgun blasts to kill them. Pisses me off.

-_- it depends on what "shotty" you are using, I only played the first one and I never really knew the whole "shotty" problem.. but I was watching my little cousin play the other day and I noticed he was getting 1 shot kills with the sawed off, which makes sense.. it takes forever to reload..
Sawed off is cheap as but if you want easy kills yeah use it.
Can't say I think the SoS is cheap.. it is what it is. Yeah it sucks to get killed by it but if you are dumb enough to charge at someone that close up then it's your fault not the games. Unless the person is hiden in a corner and you didn't check it then you should have no problem dealing with them with the gnasher. It is pretty damn balanced. Can't say I have much of a complaint with the game other than the pistol still sucks.
Played it a friends the other day. I agree with the OP.
Just don't let players get close enough to you to use the shotty. It's balanced out with the long reload time and short short distance requirement.
Like dude above I played this the other day at a buddies house, he is obsessed with it. It was ty. I played GOW2 cause it was given to me for free, and I beat it, got some achievements and traded it in soon after. Gears is just bland to me, one track mind type game.
It's definitely a fun game, but not one I'll personally be buying. CoD/BF has far better multiplayer, and the single player (other than horde) is fairly run of the mill.
Okay, I changed my mind on the Sawed off. You're a if you use it. It takes absolutely no skill to use the damn thing and the spread is much too far. And if you're one of those asses that only use the Sawed off the entire game you're a noobie , lol.
Hate that gun.. takes the fun out of shotgunning. Yeah I know how to defend against it (just roll away from them and not get too close) but it is still gay as .
I started using the sawed-off when I kept getting killed by them and now my K/D is positive now.
I don't see how you are a using it when its hard to even get that close in the first place. You have to roll and maneuver you way in and avoid Lancer bullets all the while to get inside to get a kill. And a kill is not even guaranteed. If you miss, you gotta use your maneuvering skills to get the out.
It's not hard at all. I've used it plenty and I've had times where I could rush the guy, he pop me a couple times with a rifle, my movement isn't slowed and I still blast him. You know the people that have them.. that is the only good thing. They are the ones that sit and wait behind a corner not moving even when you are shooting them and it's obvious to them you aren't moving close.
Besides that.. a good testimony to it being a very easy gun that requires zero skill, as you say now that you are using it your KD is positive... My KD sucks (0.7).. the only gun I'm positive in is the SoS.. everyone I know the best KD is the SoS.
And maneuvering out of reach is not hard at all..
Just my opinion though. Not really saying it's cheap per say.. just that it's a gun.
