You're a got![]()
..it got me thinking about back in the day when I lived across the street from a black church. You could hear them singing those gospel songs for blocks. They'd meet at around 7 at night as opposed to in the am. I'd sit on the porch and listen. That was long before I discovered Georgia Tom Dorsey, Blind Willie Johnson, Washington Phillips, Bozie Sturdivant, Blind Joe Taggart, Blind Mamie Forehand (Tom Waits mentioned her) and Blind Roosevelt Graves.
There is just something very powerful here...
No this isn't another..."is there a God"...thread. that, believe what you need to. This is about the power that music possesses. Try a movie without it. Try driving without it. It's like a drug, or should be.

He started out as a bluesman, he'd play piano with the great Tampa Red on guitar. He'd dump that Devils music for this...
In the early 40's Alan Lomax was roaming the south looking to record whoever had some talent. He worked for The Library of Congress. While in Clarksdale Mississippi he came upon a church....
Yes I've posted this before, it's that powerful.
