in the playoffs is a in' moron.

I don't give a if one of your key players gets to play the entirety of the next series if you extend the current series you're in, when you have the opportunity to close a team out in the post-season, you close them in' out.

Denver just wanted it more. No way Kobe makes those three consecutive 3s to bring the Lakers back into it if they're tanking.

I just can't imagine teams fuking with throwing games and risking injury with all of the names dropping like flies this post season from injuries.

    For damn sure.

I am really getting annoyed with people making threads about the Lakers posibility of tanking.

Not only here but upstairs as well.

The idea of tanking in the playoffs is so moronic it is not even worth debating.

    Also hating the word coasting.

That seems to be the fallback excuse when a team loses.

So professional sports teams never lose games on purpose?

Yes... if you're the Charlotte Bobcats. Not for a playoff team though

Kobe is just so damn compe ive .......... in his effort to pad his playoff stats. He simply forgot the gameplan to tank in the first place. Bynum did his part though with the statement, certainly giving more motivation for the opponent to make the tanking job a bit less apparent.

Clippers tanked in the last game of the season in 2006 to get homecourt in the 1st round. The Clippers and Grizzlies were playoff teams that year so yes playoff teams tank sometimes.

Playoff teams tank regular season games to get favourable matchups / rest stars. Playoff teams don't tank in the actual playoffs.

If a team is trying to repeat, then purposefully losing would be counterproductive, don't you think?
