I don't know why there are so many news articles and threads and celebrations about the Spurs beating the Thunder 101-98. The Spurs just went out, took care of business, won their 19 straight game, and beat a team they were supposed to beat. Nothing big, nothing huge, no big accomplishments. Everyone wants to talk about how Manu is "back" but the truth is Manu never left. Manu's 26 points are pretty much what we can expect to get from Manu every night. This is an OKC Thunder team that the Spurs have already beaten a number of times this year, so this game is no surprise and no big deal.
The problem OKC made, as most young teams do, is when they want to come and disrespect a veteran team and go out there and try to have swagger and act like they're supposed to win the game. It worked for most of the game but sooner or later, in a 48 minute game, the better team wins.
Again, last night's game was no big deal. The Spurs had already won 18 games in a row and last night was just another easy win for the Spurs. The Spurs will be the first team in NBA history to sweep the entire playoffs.
Again, no trash talking, nothing personal against OKC, they're just not that good. No big celebrations, no news stories, no big surprises here.
