I think this is our last legit shot with this group, that's why we have to seize this opportunity, and it starts tonight.
win or lose this series, or even the championship, do you guys believe we still have at least one more season as contenders, or is this the end of the line right here?
lets suppose we resign all key players (diaw and green), but manu, tp and td all a year older and with olympic games in the middle to top it.
its been great watching what happened this season, specially after the all star break, the 20 game winning streak etc but not sure i see it happening again.
then again, i thought and many of us thought, tp included, that we were done after being bounced by memphis.
my point: it will hurt a lot to be bounced by okc since i really think it will be hard to get back to this point once again!
I'm sure the team knows and understands that more than us and will leave everything on the court!

Our run started with a lockout season, and it will end with a lockout season: one way or another. The Spurs have made San Antonio damn proud.

If we win it all this year, I say we have a chance again next year.
If we don't win it, I don't think they have it in them to get this far only to come up short again.
I would like to think it is our time starting next season... Still think spurs will be up there. Depends on what Duncan can still do I guess.
We'll be ok but we'll never sniff another championship again, unless we get Dirk or something.
I thought this year we had no chance. So it's hard to say. But the championship is there for the taking, so if we don't, it's a huge missed opportunity.
Next year other teams could get better or injuries or maybe Manu isn't off, he's just digressed to the point that he is a few notches below being a star. There's really no way of knowing.
Look at Dallas. Last year they surprised everyone by winning a championship. This year they surprised everyone by barely getting the 7th seed and then losing in a sweep in the first round.
I and many others have thought that it would be over after every playoff exit since 2008, so I really don't know..
We'd need Leonard to go Superstar and have Manu and Timmy as role players.
If the Spurs win the championship, then thy can contend next year. If they don't, then keep the big three and Leonard and the rest are fair game. Leonard is the future of the team so I say build around him. Also, win or lose, bring Richards over and work his butt off.

it'll probably be like the past few seasons before this, 3-5 seed and second round exits
if the spurs manage to win this year, obviously go all out for the repeat next year. but i'm pretty sure the thunder will be collecting skulls next year in the western conference.
We need Lorbek, he could help.

The Spurs will win the championship and might win next year as well. They'll contend this and next year.
IMO they would need to somehow swing a Hibbert or another decent to good defensive big man to contend. They'd also need Leonard to take some big big steps. They'd need Lorbek and De Colo to be better than who they're replacing.
this is our last chance!...just like every year!
All I'm hoping for is no more Matt Bonner.
And I am prepared to be disappointed.
