Winning one against OKC isn't enough.
I have been thinking a lot on this series and agree with much of what's been written in other threads. It dawned on me today that whoever wins this game will probably win the championship. Obviously, It would be a monumental task for the spurs to win tonight but if they could pull it out, they would have game 7 at home. The odds would certainly be better. Believe it or not, this is a huge game for the Thunder as well because I'm sure they would hate to play a game 7 on the road. We need to take one game at a time but tonight has huge implications for both teams. Go Spurs Go.
Winning one against OKC isn't enough.
We've said this every game![]()
Defense wins championships. As Spurs fans...we should know this. My money would be on the old guys in Boston.
They play good D but it certainly isn't elite as it was nor do they have the offense to keep up with either.
Its every bit as lethal as it was in the last few years. If you guys make the Finals.........I'll put my money on championship experience and defense.
Funny how one game makes a team "the team to beat". Three nights ago it was Miami, now suddenly Boston is a beast.
There is not a team in the playoffs that is a beast so....once again...defense wins championships. Lets see how this plays out.
I could be wrong but if it's thunder vs celtics I fail to see how they can keep up with our young guys or score enough to beat us 4 out of 7. We also get stops when we need to... Our D is more than good enough to win the le. Let's not forget Boston likely aren't in this situation with bosh heathly.
You also gotta remember Boston isnt exactly the picture of perfect health. How many games has Ray Allen missed this post season?...and he's their best floor spreader. Look, I hope the Spurs beat you guys tonight and win game 7 and make the Finals....but I'm just saying I think the Celtics come out of the East and you guys look posied to knock us out....if thats the case I think Boston has the defense to get the job done.
Seriously. Don't fall asleep on the Celtics. I know that they had to go seven games to beat the 8th seed in the East. And I know that the Heat is more Hype than Substance. But these guys are deceptively good and they don't choke and they have a ton of pride. You have to beat them, they won't beat themselves.
If Boston gets past Miami, I predict they win one game in the finals.
The Celtics defense has been unreal the past couple games... something we just don't have.
I agree 100%. Us, Spurs fans and Thunder fans seem to think it will be a cakewalk if either team makes it to the Finals. Thats a bad mistake on our collective part. Both Boston and Miami play great defense...whoever comes out of the East is not gonna let the Finals be a scoringfest.
