Nets backup point guard Jordan Farmar, who had to notify the team by today whether he would pick up the player option on the final year of his contract, has decided to pick up the option, the 6-2 Farmar told the Star-Ledger.

Farmar had to decide whether to pick up the option, which will pay him $4.25 million this season, or become an unrestricted free agent.
