You're suggesting we give up all depth at center, leaving Tim to man the position on his own.

You're suggesting we trade for a group of overpaid veterans who consistently underperform — with the consolation prize of one athletic/young forward.

You're suggesting we get rid of Manu, Jax, Splitter and four role players so Chicago can dump their bad contracts on the Spurs.

    Good plan, tbh.

    Hollinger's Analysis: -14 Wins

With this trade you have decreased this team's projected wins by 14.

He asked for a professional opinion of his trade idea. That was the only one available.

are you serious? Bonner and Blair are not rotation players, you give up only Splitter but get Gibson, a much better player and better fit next to Tim and someone who will bring much needed defensive mindset and also Boozer that will be great privilege to have in professional viewpoint.
overpaid veterans? such as Manu and Jax?
you get for them Lual Deng, an allstar caliber player, a top 3 SF in the league and top 3 wing defender, someone who is better those days than Manu and Jax combine and could play the minutes of both of them.
Hamilton is also solid option at the two with experience.

i know it's hard and sad to give up manu who is a symbol but maybe it's time!

Manu & Jackson are both expiring contracts & both will re-sign at a discounted price giving RC a good amount of cap space to chase a solid starting big. Also no need for Deng when we already have Kawhi.

There's no reason to lock the thread. It's almost two months until training camp begins and the board is settling into the normal summer doldrums. If someone wants to propose wildly irrational trade scenarios to pass the time, let them have at it.

Deng's a good defender but offensively he's not amazing. He averaged 15 and 6 on 41/37/77 shooting while posting the most minutes per game in the league. Per 36 those drop to 14 and 5.

Leonard's stats per 36 are 12 and 8 on 49/37/77 shooting, so there's not a huge dropoff. Not to mention Deng's in his prime while Leonard is just coming into his second year in the league.

you should remember he played with a broken arm last season, he is much improved offensive player and much better than what he's given credit for.
