Wow, that was an unexpected destination. Glad it's not Anaheim at least.
Surprising. I figured any team that moved would head to Seattle.

while the Hampton Roads metro area is 1.6 million (36th in the US), it's spread out all over the damn place and would be poaching fans off of the Bobcats big time. No ing way that area would be able to successfully support the team.
If the NBA lets this happen then it's yet another example of how this league is becoming a ing joke.

Bout time that area got a team. My wife is from Norfolk. It's a huge area. Not sure why they are not putting in in downtown Norfolk though.
No way that area can support a team. Norfolk relies on the Navy (thus a population that turns itself over constantly) and Va Beach relies on tourism (another population that doesn't lend itself to long term fans and a strong, supportive base)
Add in the geographical proximity to two other teams (Wizards & Bobcats) and you have the recipe for a team that will toil away in obscurity and mediocrity (probably worse). Nobody will want to play there, either.
It would be sheer lunacy to give them a team, and a sure bet that the Kings will be repeating this process in less than 20 years.
Just what the NBA needs
just move the team to Seattle or Vegas already.
