Five women who worked for Vito J. Lopez, the assemblyman at the center of a broadening sexual harassment scandal, described in interviews an atmosphere of sexual pressure and crude language in his office, with frequent unwanted advances by him and others, requests for provocative dress, personal questions about their boyfriends and fears of reprisals if they complained.

By their accounts, Mr. Lopez, 71, a Brooklyn Democrat, told some women not to wear bras to work. He requested they wear short skirts and high heels. He gave them cash to buy jewelry and complimented them on their figures, giving special attention to those he called “well endowed.”
First paragraph and a few other pieces make me think this guy Lopez thought his name was Corleone.

nothing to see here move along
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and other elected officials have called on Mr. Lopez to resign
Seems like a pretty big deal to everyone else, especially the committee investigating these allegations right now, considering how deep this could go:

The New York Times reported that Sheldon Silver, the Assembly speaker and one of the state’s most powerful Democrats, authorized a secret payment of $103,080 in June to settle prior allegations against Mr. Lopez from two other women — allegations that were never referred to the ethics committee. The settlement has sparked numerous calls for investigation into the Assembly’s handling of the matter. Mr. Silver has conceded he made a mistake.

absolutely...opening the thread was an accident by all accounts. Kinda reminds me of getting on a school bus as a kid and quickly realizing it's actually a bus full of re ed kids...at the next stop you quickly jump off and find another way to get to school.

I agree. Attractive, well endowed women shouldn't wear bras.

Wait.. isn't that the New York Times?

That is two instances in one day of "liberal media" reporting about s my Democrats.

nah..... that can't be right. It "only rarely" happens.

... unless, of course, the media in this country isn't as "liberal" or slanted as conservatives want everybody to believe. nah.

To be fair, it happened in the NYT's backyard. Pretty hard to ignore that tbh.

Well to be fair the other instance he is referring to is the tear down of wasserman-schultz by anderson cooper, and we all know that that isn't a woman playing in coopers' backyard.

Well, to be fair, you've listed two incidents; one of which TeyshaBlue just shot down.

    Not exactly a trend.

    That is a fair statement.

I just found the second instance of the "liberal media" going after a Democrat and deservedly so to be too delicious to pass up.

    Mea culpa.

Actually, as a reader of the NYT for years, I would place them a bit left of center in some of their analysis. All in all, not fatally so. Nobody is completely straight down the middle. That doesn't even exist except as a statistical abstract.

telling them not to wear bras at work isn't a bad idea at all imho, s can be visible through es' shirts especially when the s are light-colored you can perhaps even see the bras colors, which's ing disgusting to even think about tbh
