WTF is up with these bomb threats???

The University of Texas has evacuated all of its buildings because of an unspecified threat.

“Immediately evacuate ALL buildings and get as far away as possible,” read a message posted at 9:53 a.m. on the campus’ emergency alert website.

At 10 a.m., UT officials issued a statement: “At 8:35 a.m. the university received a call from a male with a middle eastern accent claiming to have placed bombs all over campus. He said he was with Al Qaeda and these bombs would go off in 90 minutes. President (Bill) Powers was notified and it was decided to evacuate all of the buildings out of an abundance of caution.”

North Dakota State University said at 9:49 a.m. that it also is evacuating because of a bomb threat

I remember in 5th grade we got evacuated because some conservative mom was crying to the school about a bomb being left near the school. It turned out it was an old empty suitcase that was thrown away by the dumpster

Or just have a test you didn't study for. Usually the threat just gets called in towards the building the class is in. Bit early in the year for a test, but not unheard of at this point.

The IRA used to do it. The idea was that they waged a war against the UK government and didn't want civilian casualties. They would phone it in quite late giving the authorities barely enough time to evacuate.
