When I was a kid, I used cardboard boxes, some dryer vent tubing, and aluminum foil. Made a robot costume.
Just bought an Andy Dufresne costume at Walmart for $20. Because you can still get clothing that looks like it's from a 1940's prison at Walmart.
Just write, "Halloween Costume" on some notebook paper and tape it on your shirt. Works every time
