I'd still be a little sketched out if it was a live attenuated vaccine, especially since HIV has uncanny variable incubation periods. Maybe that was addressed in the article though, too lazy to read it tonight.

no surprise it's a canadian university that first discorvers the cure to HIV, given the high percentage of gay people in that country. Demand is the strongest driving force imho.

It's all about new patents and a vaccine would be administered to an entire population and get play with UNICEF and the like for international distribution. Whoever holds the patent for the vaccine will become multi, multi billionaires overnight.
