Pop said Neal missed the game due to injury. Not sure what the injury was. I'm guessing either he's sick or that finger injury needs some time to heal.

Gary Neal was out tonight with injured index finger. Cut it on luggage in LA.

Neal cut his hand on his luggage. Able to play against Lakers before wound "moistened" according to Spurs spokesman.

Neal was able to play with it against the Lakers, but couldn't tonight. They're hoping he'll be good for Saturday.

As much as we like to rag on Neal for his point guard skills (or lack thereof), I think he was missed tonight big time. When guys like Manu and Green struggle, all it takes is one or two Gary Neal 3's to stop a teams run, which would have been HUGE tonight when New York was taking the momentum from the Spurs in the 4th....

There's been several games the past few years Neal has been almost singlehandedly the difference. Doesn't happen as much in the playoffs for some reason. The reason probably is his defense gets exposed more.

Neal was definitely missed tonight. To be honest, I feel a fully staffed Spurs team would have won tonight.

Neal is an absolute big time shooter. You can't teach what Gary has, and like I said last season, you simply don't trade or give away someone like Neal for nothing as some of the people on this forum have suggested this season. I may not like him at PG, but I still want him on the team at SG. He just needs to keep improving his defense and he'll be a much better player for us.

he should try starting neal at SG and move green to SF
neal can be hidden a lot easier and his aggressiveness makes up for boris diaws complete passiveness
pop actually did play neal at SG with the starters during the portland game and that worked out well you could say
