according to italian medias, he'll sign for my team (Paris-SG) for 45M.

great player of course, but he has a rep of being mentally weak. Your thought?

My thought is that's bull because he's likely going to a bigger club like Chelsea:
Pastore agent to meet with Chelsea
    July 28, 2011

Reports that Javier Pastore is set to join Paris St-Germain are premature, according to Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, who says that the midfielder's agent will meet with Chelsea on Friday.

Pastore is the subject of interest from both clubs, with each having bid between €40 million and €50 million for the Argentine ace. However, despite reports that PSG are closing on a deal, Zamparini insists nothing is sorted yet.

"Tomorrow [Friday] his agent Marcelo Simonian will be in London to meet Chelsea," Zamparini told Stadio News.

Sky Sport Italia had claimed PSG had already signed a deal with the player, but Zamparini played down those repots.

"It's not true and this news [of Pastore joining PSG] is an invention," he told Radio Radio. "The only thing that is certain is that he is going abroad.

"We are in the decisive days now and I think Pastore is just one of a few world-class players, but I won't say where he is going, even under torture. The offers are between €40 million [£34.9m] and €50m [£43.6m]."

PSG director Leonardo also revealed on Thursday that there "is nothing concrete" on the former Huracan star as yet.

Sorry, but if I were Javier Pastore I wouldn't choose any French club over some of the biggest clubs in the world.

    Wow, surprising.

Very good player, but I have never been so high on him as most of my fellow countrymen are. Not for a moment I buy the "next Zidane" label. He can only play as an offesive miedfielder (he doesn't have the finishing of a forward nor the defensive ability of a mixed miedfielder, and he doesn't feel comfortable as a winger).

When he's on he's as good as it gets on his position but he has the tendency to be very inconsistent.

I don't think he's the next Zidane either, tbh. But it's probably the only good guy Argentina has that can play in that position with that kind of role.

really? so now 45M seems too high for a guy like him.

the team is playing in 4-2-3-1, he'd be in the middle right behind our striker.

That's the best position for him, imho. And yeah 45M seems high for me too, but he's still very young, maybe as he matures he becomes more consistent.

but he's going from Serie A to Ligue 1. He could have gone to Chelsea or another big club for a lot of money.

EPL for a lot of money? Yes

For the same amount as what PSG offered?
    Not sure

PSG got bought this summer by rich arabs (I hate this PetroDollars trend - I know there is no salary cap in soccer and that money talks, but since those arab $$$$ playboys started to buy Euro clubs, it has gotten ridiculous)

As a result, PSG immediately got a 80 millions Euros envelope to start the summer mercato

Of course they are gonna attract good players, like Manchester City did when they got PetroDollared
Before that, they were just an ok club

He's not getting that kind of money anywhere else, IMO. And Palermo, his former club, was probably more sold on that than anybody else.

this years transfers is bull including the mid season transfers...

makes last seasons transfers look like rubbish when guys like ronaldo and kaka were worth every penny, then you have no names with one good season contract year

He's not ready physically yet but he showed lot of class and talent already. Paris is an offensive team and he seems to fit well.

First start and already 2 assists.
