Paul is a top 3 NBA player, not that behind LeBron and Durant.
The moment David Stern refused Cris Paul's trade, I have envisioned how the Lakerfans would feel full of frustration...
From ESPN:
En route to capturing the game's most valuable player honor, Paul did things rarely seen in these outings. He controlled the tempo, directed traffic and, at times, actually brought structure and defense to a game that's more conducive to highlight dunks executing a scouting report. And along the way, Paul dribbled, dodged and drove his way to 20 points, a game-high 15 assists and 4 steals to outshine a 30-point effort from teammate Kevin Durant and a combined 66 points from East's three leading scorers in James, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony
Kobe is one year older....
Paul is a top 3 NBA player, not that behind LeBron and Durant.
he wont win mvp this season for missing to many games, unless they change the standards to qualify...
The difference between him and others is that a lot of other players in that game went out of their way to win the MVP. He played within himself and within the game.
Can we find the threads the day the Lakers landed Dwight?
He is better than Durant, but way behind Lebron.
Speaking of CP3...
This is actually a pretty revolutionary model for the league, having essentially a player/GM.... I know most superstars ask their front office to get certain players, but I'm pretty sure the Clippers are the first to pretty much have their star as the GM calling all the shots....Chris Paul Has De Facto Final Say On All Clippers' MovesFeb 18, 2013 10:03 AM EST
Chris Paul is planning on re-signing with the Los Angeles Clippers in the offseason on a maximum contract and has final say on every move the team makes.
"If Chris wants Vinny [Del Negro], he'll be the coach," one source tied to the Clippers and Paul said. "If Chris wants [Kevin Garnett], they'll push harder for it."
The Clippers have become the NBA's best destination for older players willing to take less money for a chance at a le because of Paul and the team's chemistry.
Paul hasn't fully committed to a new deal with the Clippers, not wanting to lose leverage in putting a genuine contender around him.

Personally, I'm all for it.... CP3 would be a great GM or coach after he retires, and his basketball IQ is off the charts... this isn't like Dwight demanding Gilbert Arenas and Monta Ellis in Orlando
Also, nice to hear the contract issue being put to rest, tbh...
what's the point of "leverage" if you know you are getting a max deal no matter what

Spurs?
OklaRefa City?
Why do Clips surpass these?
Esp the Heat.
Nice weather, LA. But the Heat are as good, really no other team has a chance to win a 'ship right now. But, many GM's don't want to see the Heat winning 3-4 in a row and will help the Spurs or OKC with some trades.
it's all-star game and KD should've known they wouldn't give it to the same player twice in a row tbh
I think he's got as much clout as Tim does in SA, but of course Pop's one of the few people in the league who controls the team from top to bottom.
Paul is better than Durant. KD is a one dimensional food stamps whiny that's finally being exposed now
CP3 just outperformed him out there, plain and simple. tried hard and even though he managed to notch 30+ pts thanks to kobe's block-championship play, he still fell short of winning the MVP
exposed at the ASG? lol
Nah, exposed for his ticky tack fouls and his 13 techs on the season. has always been whiny but this year the refs have begun to pull the trigger on the Ts.
still takin durant tbh..
Fine. You can have your own opinion.
