San Antonio Spurs ‏@spurs Congratulations to @tp9network, the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Month! http://www.nba.com/spurs/news/130201_parker_pom …

San Antonio Spurs ‏@spurs Parker is the first Spur to receive the honor since Tim Duncan in 2002, and only the fifth recipient in franchise history.

i guess the league took notice of his big 4th quarters in games where either TD or Manu were sitting out. Props to Tony. sorry, ElNono

When you look at the two spurs that Pop has had the most 'developmental' impact on, they have to be Duncan and Parker, and both of their careers would argue that Pop really knows how to develop talent.

    Well done, TP!

I know you're not exactly the biggest fan of hero but its all good I know we're all on the same side... except maybe playblair aka dejuan's mom.

but in general, can we stop calling him underappreciated? top 5 in mvp voting last year, right up there again this year, an all-star berth again and a player of the month, right along lebron lol

    Spurs POTM Award Recipients:

David Robinson four times (January 1991, February 1994, March 1995, March 1996)

Tim Duncan three times (March 1999, December 2001, April 2002)

George Gervin one time (January 1980)

Alvin Robertson one time (December 1985)

    and now

Tony Parker one time (January 2013)

Notes: POTM began in 1980 so it wasn't available for Gervin to win his entire career. They split the award into Eastern Conference and Western Conference in 2002, so that means two of Duncan's were sole POTM and all four of Robinson's were sole POTM.

And prepare to sprain your eyeballs as you roll your eyes into the back of your brain when considering this .... The Spurs were long overdue for this award. Since the last time a player from the Spurs won a POTM award, Kobe Bryant had won it 12 times. Yes T-W-E-L-V-E times. That's just laughable.

    Props to TP, great job

Congrats to TP, and well deserved! But damn, a Spur hadnt won POTM since 2002? What a joke NBA... I'm sure Manu or Tim should have easily taken one of these in at least ONE month from the 2003-2007 seasons...

If TP can play like a player of the month in April-Jun we might be able to win #5. It's a big "if". When defense are concentrated and shutting down the lane can he still be effective?
