You're a got...
#1 - if I had to bet my life savings (which isn't much) on what Ibaka's intentions were, I'd bet he was hacking at an arm that he anticipated Griffin bringing back up for a rebound, missed, and hit in in the nuts/leg.
My question for you guys though is - why is Griffin always in these situations? Players love to hack him, period. My take - a combination of him being annoying, a little dirty, and a flopper. Some of it is the fact he's not a great FT shooter so guys wanna foul him hard and put him on the line, but more than anything I think it's the first 3 things. I think he gets on opposing players last nerves with his weak flopping, whining, and dirty play and guys just get to the point where they can't help but want to rough him up. Griffin of course grew up here in OKC. Here's a take from a local sports guy who knows Griffin as well as anyone.
- A third thought: I’m not sure there are many people that have seen Blake Griffin play more basketball than me, maybe other than Tommy and Gail Griffin. He’s easily the most dramatic player I’ve ever watched. He exaggerates contact so much, he flails and flops. He thinks he’s got a target on his back and that everyone is out to cheapshot him. He always overpowerd opponents in middle school and high school, so a lot of teams tried to rough him up. So he learned to exaggerate to draw attention and get calls. And it has stuck with him. He’s also one of the most physical guys in the world and for some reason doesn’t understand that when he dishes it out, he’s going to get it back at him.
So what are your thoughts?
Ibaka is a got. Cheap shot is always dirty play, no matter what oppent do.
The thread wasn't really aimed at determining whether I was a got or not, but I appreciate the input.
Where you from Ace?
Okc I agree with you.
reason why they foul him hard, is they are tired of his schtick...whether its flopping, poster dunks and doing t hat with the mouth guard...dude is fake ass whigger
It's the same reason Dwight used to take so much contact in Orlando.... Blake is very strong/athletic for his position and so good at finishing around the rim that the refs assume he can "play through" more egregious contact than other players... with that in mind, opposing players push the limits on defense, tbh...
Also, Blake has vastly improved at the line this year, going from a 52% shooter at the line last year to about 66% this year... I actually hope teams still think he's a bad free throw shooter, because they're in for a rude awakening, tbh...
I can admit Blake can be annoying, tbh... some of it is just his compe ive drive, but there's still been a few games here and there's still been times here and there throughout the season where I'm practically screaming at the TV for Blake to stop complaining to the refs (but he's done it a lot less than last year)...
Yeah..he's literally trying to pull Ibakas jersey off of him. That's dirty . I'd hack at him too. Ibaka wasn't going for the nuts. He was trying to hack to free his jersey

Hey, at least you can be honest about the guy which I appreciate. I have no problems being the same way with OKC players. I realize KD and RW whine at the refs when they should be getting back on D.
Griffin is an absolute freak of nature. He just needs to play ball. I think he's a good guy, he just needs to cut the BS and play ball.
and how do you defend the part on video in between these two pictures? You know, the part where Ibaka is staring down Blake's nuts like they're bananas as he starts to swing.
You're making an assumption that Ibaka intentionally hit Griffin in the nuts. To me, the video proves otherwise. The most logical explanation for Ibaka's hack was a move to free Griffin's grasp from his jersey. Clearly, Griffin is just man handling Ibaka via his jersey..which is cheap. Any player is gonna do one of two things - go to the floor to try and get a foul call on Griffin, or do something to get the guy's damn grasp away from your jersey. Ibaka did that, which to me is manning up to the situation rather than flopping, which is what Griffin woulda done if the situation was reversed.
The why did he make a fist? If he's trying to get Blake off his jersey the simplest thing to do is grab his arm. But he made a fist and swung down well below where Blake's arm was.
Like punch his testicles, which is what ibaka did
Do yourself a favor - watch the video again. Watch it in fullscreen. Pause it when he makes the motion. Open hand, no doubt. Not a fist.
Only a got would ask a question like that.
You a bandwagon fan? Ever even been to Miami?
The bandwagon is in my backyard, buddy. I can jump on it all I want.
Clearly. Harden was pulling on his jersey. Artest just trying to get position for a rebound.
Most of these Miami fans on here probably don't know a damn thing about Miami. Probably never even seen the Heat play. They just like rooting for Lebron and rooting for a champion.
