No, i want another SF
Do Spur Fans want Greg Oden to play for San Antonio Spurs?
Sure, intriguing as a possible signing but I won't be too broke up if he signs with another team.
I voted for option 1 but I'm also in for option 3.
The mystery surrounding Oden is getting disturbing.
Is there an information blackout from his camp? Do the teams know more than the reporters seem to know?
Can he play now? Can he play by the start of the season? Can he play by 2014-15?
You would think if he was ready, his people would be shouting it to the heavens.
But no one on his end seems anxious to answer these questions and that may be why his status is so uncertain.
Option 1. But they to prioritize a SF first. Maybe a S&T for Blair with De Colo and Bonners expiring. Only then I'd put serious thought on Oden.
He's damaged goods. Spurs should look elsewhere.
Absolutely worth the risk at the vet min otherwise no
if he takes a contract like Marco then sure.
Yes but I would've prefered if the Spurs went after another playmaker first, not just Belinelli (more of what we already have) and go after Oden whom we probably won't even need.
After all, if Pop yanks all our bigs and best rebounders when we need rebounds, having them on the team obviously doesn't help. They can't rebound from the bench.
i think someone will offer him more than the vet minimum. Spurs should pass.
True. Cynically it appears that his representation is looking for another team to sell on him sitting on IR for a season and drawing seven figures for it, with the promise of his recovery being right around the corner.
As much as Portland had invested in him, you'd think that if there was any prospect of a real return they'd have kept him.
One assumes that any team taking a look at him would want a look at his medical records and would not waive a physical before signing.
Teams are likely afraid of getting "Bynumed" -- paying a year's salary then having to court the guy again after he did nothing.
Instead of Oden, my first option would be Asik, second Pittman, and third Zeke Marshall.
For the right price sure.
I think he'd just end up getting injured and put out for the whole season.
It's tough to want someone ol' sport whose own knees don't even want
Indeed. Portland dropping him is a huge tell. What would make sense is a 2 year deal for the vet minimum, team option on the 2nd year, and full access to his medical file and a physical.
Wish some news would break on this already.
Nothing new?
