Since the NBA started mattering, that is when stars put down the crack pipe and actually cared circa 1982, there has never been a worst case of 1 and done IMO than the Dallas Mavericks. The only team you can make a case against are the 82 76ers that beat my Lakers and the 08 Celtics, but the Celtics still made the finals in 2010 and they were a force to be reckon with.
Since winning the 2011 finals, that team got ripped apart by Cuban and has been irrelevant ever since tbh.

Exactly, while the "nucleus" of the heat is different, they have been relevant since 06 and are now going to be of the greatest teams ever assembled if not THE greatest team ever assembled. The only relevant headline the Mavericks have made since 2011 was Mark Cuban getting on The Shark Tank.

My sources tell me they had three first round exits to go along with that prior to Bron Bron taking his talents to South Beach. HOWEVA that definition of "relevant" conveniently stretches far enough to say that Kobe kept the Lakers "relevant" between the Shaq and Pau years. Quite frankly, I'd rather agree with Skip Bayless than a Mavs fan but I rule in favor of Mono.
i dont think it really counts, there was never any defending champion mavs to start with. whole team was immediately disbanded so how could they have defended the le in the first place?

They did bring back the same team so we know how it played out. Different from dismantling the team all together for the purpose of the next year and wonder what would have happened.
11' mavs marked the end of an era imho, after which the miami heat dynasty took over the league and will dominate the for 5-6 years at least. the mavs were lucky enough to steal one before the door was closed tbh. they just disbanded their team as was planned years before, in other words, they never expected this team to win the championship to begin with.
and i don't think the mavs are nearly the worst 1 and done in NBA history. jabbar's bucks owned that le, and letting TC walk was not nearly as big a mistake as selling one of the best centers to ever play the game for a pack of TOSBs tbh.

Tbf, that Bulls team had Ben Wallace and the best defense in the league (to absolutely no one's surprise). Wallace always played Shaq well.
What baffles me until now is why Cuban disbanded that 2011 team that has the potential to reach the WCF at least in 2012.
Shut the up, Laker gots. The most disappointing team of ALL TIME is the 2013 Lakers, and that's way funnier and more undisputable than the worst "one and done" of all time.
