Findog, it's not fair when it's that easy to own someone.
Whatever. That dynasty was a fluke.
How many teams were in the league back then? About 9 to 12? That's what I thought. You don't compare a 12 team NBA to a 30 team NBA.
Why'd you include the entire sporting world when the Spurs haven't had the best 10 year run in the NBA? Of late, the Bulls and Lakers both won more championships...
I feel stupid for responding.
braves = 14 straight division les... only 1 championship but still.
both are impressive.
Because Michael Jordan is a fluke and hit a bunch of lucky shots![]()

He's a double fluke. He let his team get swept out of the first round 2 years in a row.
From 1957 through 1969 the Celtics won 11 championships in 13 NBA seasons, including a never-to-be-broken eight consecutive les straight from 1959-66. The Celtics reign spanned four presidential administrations. It started before Sputnik and ended the same year we landed on the moon. Eight straight championships elevates the Celtics above the New York Yankees, Montreal Canadiens, Green Bay Packers and every other American pro sports juggernaut. Today it's fashionable to talk dynasty after two or three championships. Try eight in a row or 11 of 13. It's unfathomable in the 21st century sport world.
Yeah, really...I'm surprised he didn't know this...every basketball fan knows about the "8 in a row" Celtics...the greatest sports dynasty of all time.
Which is what makes Bill Russell the greatest player of all time.
You cannot argue with the record. The point of basketball is to win.
You have to be kidding me. I thought I'd read asinine takes in this forum, but this absolutely takes the cake.
Suns = Greatest 10 Year Stretch in US Pro Sports History
1. Charles Barkley.
2. Nuff Said.
K then. Jordan's Bulls won 6 'Ships in the 90s. Anything else?
jeff . . . errrrr, SpursDynasty just started watching sports in 2005.
That MUST be it.
I refuse to believe that anyone could really be THAT stupid.
There are more bad teams now than there were then. There's also much more player movement now, so you're not stuck with the same roster year after year. Please, for your own sake, you don't want to continue this argument. You will lose. And that's just the first example of the top of my head. I can do other sporting leagues if you like.
True, the Spurs have been very good overall this past decade...but there are teams that have done better over a 10-year span, like the Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls.
I've been a Spurs fan for 12 years and I never thought I would genuinely hate one of my own kind this much. Stupidity knows no bounds.
Wait, I get it now:
The Detroit Red Wings are in the midst of the greatest 10 year stretch in all of sports!
3 Stanley Cups
4 WCF appearances
10 straight playoff appearances
7 division les, six straight going into next season
The bestest team evaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Whatever. Those 3 les were a fluke. The Mavericks of the late eighties are the greatest dynasty in all of US pro sports history.
- 5 straight winning seasons
- 1 division le
- 1 appearance in the Western Conference Finals
- 87-88 Sixth Man of the Year Roy Tarpley
- #1 Overall Pick in the 80-81 draft Mark Aguirre
- Host of the 1986 NBA All Star Game
Nuff said.
I can do the Lions, but it'd have to be the worst 5 year stretch in all of sports...
