Beno struggled with bringing the ball up against pressure. Other than that, he was fine with his decisionmaking.
I'd like NVE and Delk for the deep bench.
The Spurs are looking to add a veteran PG to help Beno with backup duties. Beno did not impress with his ballhandling decisions in the playoffs.
Possible targets? Discuss.
NVE? If his knees can hold up, he'd love to come.
Tyronn Lue? Not much help in Houston, looked decent on a horrible Atlanta team. He may parlay that Atlanta performance into more $$$ than SA is willing to pay. He's a good defender.
Tony Delk? Also looked decent on a horrible Atlanta team. He's not much of a playmaker, but he can get the ball across halfcourt, unlike Beno.
Travis Best? A pretty run-of-the-mill guy. Small. Quick. Not much of a perimeter threat. A decent playmaker.
Darrell Armstrong's career is about over. Howard Eisley's should be.
Nobody else stand out.

NVE is the only one that really catches my eye from this list. He's a proven vet who might be willing to play for less dough in hopes of a ring. And he'd be the right guy to mentor Beno along at the PG spot.
Beno will be fine. Let Brent handle the third string pg duties and put a younger point (mike wilks or the like) on the IR.
I'm not done with Beno yet. He's still fairly young, and he was a rookie. I think he showed a lot of upside, and I think it was just the pressure of the Finals combined with Detroit's stifiling full-court pressure that got to him. How many of the backup PGs named above could have handled that Detroit press in their rookie season? What about in their rookie season in the Finals? Maybe NVE. Maybe. But I don't know how much Nick has left. He's certainly not getting any younger. Plus, we're running more now, and I don't think he can handle that pace. He's a walk-it-up PG now. I say give Beno another year. Give Tony more rest in the regular season, let Beno get some minutes. I think he'll pan out. He's shown great decision-making abilities (at least in the regular season), and he's really a true PG, which is perfect in our system. If I remember correctly, Tony wasn't exactly a rock in the Finals in his rookie year...and he turned out OK. Too early to give up...the jury's still out.

With regard to Delk, he has a player option on the last year of his contract. I'd imagine he would only exercise that for a fairly significant new deal (non-minimum).
i agree NVE is washed up
i like beno
parker made the finals his 2nd year and played... well pretty much like he did this year
I would love to have NVE on this team, that boy is CLUTCH!! There would be no dropoff when Tony takes a breather.
ive said this before but he was openly considering retirement this last year his knees were so bad
i doubt he's made the greatest recovery of all time
too risky, too old, too expensive
Wilks. The cat has style. :p
