Solid PG but I don't see him as the type of player you build a team around. He's a good piece though.
I think he is ready to be the franchise player . MY . Who would have thought he would be better than Oden in his NBA Career damn

offensively challenged but great D guard. Average distributor. he would need to play next to playmakers so IMO no franchise guy
Offensively challenged nope he averaged 17 PPG and 7 Assist last month with wins against the Thunder , Clippers and Celtics . His offense looks good without Rudy hogging the ball but Zach has played like IDK why but could care less since Marc , Bayless and Conley have been fantastic without Gay . Conley is somewhat like Damon Stoudamire but with the ability to score easily in the paint with his quickness .
I think he is very solid, but not a franchise guy. Pretty much no PG except Chris Paul and Derrick Rose are.
That's the best part about Conley, tbh..
A PG as your franchise player is essentially pointless, whereas a guy like Conley can play the role of the 4th best player on a top team, as a top-tier role player..he doesn't present the delusion of being a top guy like the ball-dominant PGs in the NBA, which virtually always leads to inevitable failure..
If Conley is your franchise player, you might as well start tanking, as his ceiling is perennial All-Star at best, tbh....
I don't think that Conley is a franchise player, but I do think the guy has been playing great over the last month. Looks like the front office knew what it was doing when they gave Conley that extension 2 years ago.
13-14: 7.9M
14-15: 8.760M
15-16: 9.680M
Conley isn't a franchise player, but I think Memphis would be better off not going with one at this point unless someone comes along that really excites them. Keep with the defense-first, inside-out philosophy and get a few more perimeter players worth a damn and a better coach. It's possible that if they could bring in a David West-like player to replace Zbo they could contend. Unless the Lakers really turn it around next year and get a good coach, the only contenders out West will be OKC and maybe the Clippers, both of whom Memphis matches up well enough against.
bayless is the real deal and is the guy with potential to become a superstar, not michael conley tbh.
He's a Derek Fisher type player, with better defense.
But didn't get invited to the Olympics by his country.
Bayless could be a nice 15 PPG type guy off the bench that's all I see him as
