Hitler-naming dad dons Nazi uniform for custody hearing
Clothes make the man: Heath Campbell and a supporter.
When going to court, any father fighting for visitation rights to his child wants to make a good impression.
So when Heath Campbell entered a closed family court hearing in Flemington, N.J., he was snappily dressed – in Nazi dress grays.
They go well with his postage-stamp mustache and his swastika neck tattoo.
Campbell and his now-estranged wife, Deborah, attracted national attention in 2009 when a shop refused to decorate a cake with the name of his son, Adolf Hitler Campbell.
Not long after, Adolf and two siblings were taken into state custody, allegedly not because of their names but because of domestic abuse, according to newjersey.com. Campbell, 40 vehemently denies mistreating his kids.
“I’ve never abused my children. I only name my children.
“What they’re saying is that because of my beliefs, [because] I’m a Nazi, us people don’t have any cons utional rights to fight for our children.”
The hearing concerned a fourth child, Heinrich Hons, who went into state care within hours of his birth in November 2011. Campbell is fighting to have the boy returned to him.
Does he think dressing like a Reichsfuehrer will help his case?
“If they’re good judges and they’re good people, they’ll look within, not what’s on the outside.”
