Danny Green > Manu.

"Part of you wants the Spurs to win because they have such a great organization," he said. "They do it the right way. They did everything they could to win. But in the end, Danny Green proved why he's been in and out of the league all the time.”
Danny Green > Manu.
He has one national le in 36 years because he was lucky enough to recruit a player who probably should've went to the NBA... em'
The ? Green has as many les as this guy does.
He proved that by shattering a NBA Finals record?
Sure, he could've done better in games 6 and 7, but frankly, if you are playing well enough as a role player to make Miami take attention away from Parker and Duncan, then you are doing a damn good job. I'm sure that at the start of the series, the Heat decided they would live with Danny Green beating them...and they quickly had to change their strategy when they realized that he could.
Miami is just lucky Tony wasn't 100% tbh.
College basketball truly sucks. How it can be so popular in the USA while they have the best basketball league by far with the NBA, is a huge mystery to me.
But college kids care more than grown men competing for millions of dollars.
Because the single-elimination tournament is about the most exciting thing in sports. I don't like NCAA basketball much either, but the tourney is amazing with how hard these kids play in it.
What a re .
Danny's found himslef a role in this team. I can\t believe this guy still thinks of Danny Green of Old.
Green was the reason this series was even as close as it was. I don't think we were ever BETTER than Miami (in the sense of suffocating defense and straight killing them inside on offense). Hot 3 point shooting is always a gimmick, and big blowout wins where you shoot a godly 70%+ from three should be taken as fools gold.
That being said, you can't blame a role player that makes 3-4mill a year. In any case, he played fantastic defense and rebounded well for us.
Maybe in your country it does.
Sure it was frustrating to see Danny drive and try to finish every time, not even looking for a pass when he's the worst finisher on the team (but then again with his ty handles he has to keep his eyes on the ball so that explains the tunnel vision) but still to call out Green out of anyone is pretty damn weird, he exceeded expectations no matter how you put it.
OP (the article that is) neglects the fact that Green played Game 7 with a low grade fever. smh.
March Madness is easily the most exciting thing in sports, that's why NCAA basketball is so popular. tbh college basketball isn't that popular throughout the entire season and even into the conference tournaments. Just the 64 team tournament.
Not sure if I buy that, considering he was out in the club after the game.
I don't see the problem, Green choked when it mattered the most. Fukin Battier comes out of nowhere to all over the Spurs. If Green were a consistent 3 point shooter he wouldn't be playing for the Spurs. He is no Ray Allen.
He didnt take many 3s in the last 2 games tho, that was the problem imo.
Also, pretty much every Syracuse player has sucked in the NBA. He's indirectly taking shots at his own guys.
He took six threes in game 7. Made one of them.
If you switched Battier & Green, Miami would have won in 5.
Green's earned his place and is a legit NBA SG for years to come.
Boeheim, meanwhile, has never coached at the top level of his profession - and I can't recall anybody banging down the door asking him to.
Point taken. Perhaps LeBron could fill us in. He got a warm fuzzy hug from DG.
Green is an extremely consistent three point shooter, dropping 43% for the season (7th in the league). It's unrealistic to expect Danny Green to play like a $10 million a year player when one of the best perimeter defensive teams of all-time decides they're going to focus their attention on him with the Spurs #1 option injured. Green had an incredible regular season and postseason, but yeah, he is no Ray Allen. Ray Allen is a Hall of Famer who can handle the ball and attack the basket when a team is determined to run him off the three point line. If Green could do that he'd be making at least $10 million.
another overated college basketball coach that talks NBA-level hoops
That's tantamount to playing with a hangnail. Green was horrid at the end of the series and it hurt the Spurs significantly, that is beyond debate. That's also the point that Boeheim was clearly trying to make, albeit via a superfluous choice of words.
He did have a fever. He mentioned still being under the weather in one of his tweets a few days later.
