This is what the bottom looks like.

Dirk needs to have some self-respect and demand a trade to the Spurs.

A healthy Bynum is better than Dwight Howard. But a unicorn is also better than a horse.

A healthy Bynum would still be the best big in the league but a healthy Bynum is just as much an imaginary thing as my "Goddess" in my novel . The distance between Bynum and health is just as long as that between my goddess and a good woman's personality

Pretty much. Not a bad gamble to take, all things considered. Either he's healthy and the team actually competes for the playoffs or he isn't and the team will tank. Either result would be better than what they did this season.

If it's a multiyear deal then its a horrible game. His knees are degenerating.

That would be weird. It doesn't help either side to give a long-term deal. I can definitely see Cuban giving eight figures on a one-year deal, though.

I don't think it would be a huge gamble for Cuban to give him a one year deal but I think some team out there will gamble on a longer deal for him. Cuban might get to crazy after not getting Howard and give Bynama long term deal.

As some have said and suggested, it would be fine for a one year deal. After missing out on some of their intended FA targets, they'll have to throw money at some players regardless to meet the salary cap floor anyway. But also agree that a multiple year deal would be unwise.

But I would enjoy watching a 3 second tv shot of him with his ironed-straight afro with perhaps a colorful pancho pimping "tacos."

If the Mavs keep missing out on their free agent targets, then they need to do what Boston did to get KG and Ray Allen and what Houston did to get Harden and then Howard: stockpile assets in the form of young players and picks. People made fun of the Rockets for years because of their pursuit of every possible high-value player but it paid off: they had the assets to land Harden when he suddenly became available and that made it easier to lure a player of Howard's caliber to join them.

    1. Signing DH comes with risk. He would probably turn out to be a horrible signing if he lets injury or ego take the best of him, and even if he maintains good health and his current form, the Rockets would still wake up in the trough before the WCF begin, even for the best scenario.
    2. It's not easy to lure big name FAs under the new CBA. DH only joined them because he's such a dumbass n!gger and the Houston city is the dumbest city of the US. We had a decent playoff squad and a MAX for Deron a year ago, and a chance to play for his hometown but he still declined us to earn the extra 30m in Brooklyn.
    3. DH is a dumbass and he's found an affinity with the city of Houston, like a fly will always prefer a piece of to cheese.

The Mavs should offer a 2 year deal for max money. If he sucks they bite the bullet one year and the second have an incredibly valuable expiring contract to pull their own Gasol or Chandler deal (or Richard Jefferson deal ). Might as well take the chance, even if it means giving a 3 year deal. What exactly do they have to lose? They're not pulling LeBron from Miami.

Agree with Baseline. Lakers or Mavs are dumb to think Riles will let James leave. L.A. is great but he passed up NYC to choose Miami. He is not leaving.
