She looks & sounds similar to me in some way despite that we ain't even of the same race, I keep thinking of her in my mind night after day. Being a friend of her is always the #1 thing I crave.

F what the old timers say, in this day and age a couple pretty much have to live with one another for an extended period of time to make sure you're compatible. You may be a perfect couple until you live together and drive each other bat crazy.

Not exactly. It just means that we are realistic. Right now this is what reality is. There was no "the one" - We met. We got married. In the future we could stay til death do us part, one of us could die, one of us could be gone tomorrow, etc...

couples need to live together for 4 or 5 months before even thinking long term. some people are awesome until you get into their personal space then they treat you like another tool to achieve their means.

You don't have to live together, just take a 10 day vacation with her. Days 5 thru 10 will reveal all flaws in the relationship if you are paying attention.
I can't. I thought I'd found her a decade ago. Nope. Meanwhile that other girl I could of got serious with during that time is freakin' hot, and an artist into body painting and artsy nude photography. The first was a dancer and gymnast growing up but got fat after having one kid at age 28. The latter was never involved in athletics in high school, and has now had two kids at age 30 and is one of those good looking fitness chicks and owns her own personal training business.

Now I enjoy my bachelor status, and above all, my freedom. I see all my friends from high school and the only other ones after me who got out of the town did so via military. Had that one been "the one", not sure if I would have made it out, either.

When I was 20 I was blinded by blond hair and flexibility. Didn't even give that other girl a second date.
Regardless of whomever I coulda-woulda-shoulda picked at 20, now that I'm 30 and a univiserity instructor, I'm pretty thrilled to not be married.
I'll worry about "the one" when I feel like I need her.

and everyone has that girl they should have dated that was cute in high school then turned into a bombs in their 20s. while all of the hot girls look like crack addicts or got fat. it happens.
