They go together like peanut butter and jelly! I don't always drink Big Red, but when I do, it's with Texas BBQ or on a long road trip.

big red is massively overrated. it's the whataburger of sodas tbh.
Whataburger is good.
Big Red and barbacoa is overrated though
you are dead to me.
I don't like to drink big red but it makes great ice cream. Take a 2 liter bottle, pour a little out and add 2/3 can of eagle brand condensed milk. Shake it up good and pour it into your ice cream maker. It kicks ass.
I've never had a Big Red.
Really good barbacoa is awesome but rule 1 is never open the tortilla and look inside the taco. It's the gross looking stuff that makes it taste good.
Only drink Big Red with barbacoa or with brisket, but gotta have it either time.
Even average barbacoa is awesome.
I know a guy that literally makes his living selling Barbacoa just on Saturday mornings. He cooks up a big ing batch of cow heads Friday and is sold out by noon Saturday and done for the week.
yeah i guess i should clarify.
Big Red separate: good
Barbacoa separate: fantastic
Together: just not orgasmic like many people make it out to be.
I like barbacoa with breakfast items, tortillas and coffee.
Yup. I grew up in west Texas, we didn't have that stuff there. So when I moved here 10 years ago, someone told me it tasted like the Fanta Red Cream Soda and I never liked that, so I've never been tempted to try Big Red.
Cane sugar Big Red is awesome.
It's all about that CIMA Red ya dig?
But seriously, what the flavor is "red" anyway?
bull . I grew up in west Texas and drank that stuff all through HS.
Nope. Not in El Paso anyway.
It does not taste like Fanta Red Cream soda. Its has its own distinct taste of happiness....mmmmm.
roomate grew up in EP, they had Big Red. He graduated HS in 97 tho.
It just tastes........Red!In*Europe, Allura Red AC is not recommended for consumption by children. It is banned in*Denmark,*Belgium,*France*and*Switzerland, and was also banned in*Sweden*until the country joined the European Union in 1994.[13]*

Nuh uh. Believe me, if there was something this sugar laden and nutrient leeching available in the 70's, my mom would have made sure we got plenty of it!
But really, I had this conversation with my parents when I first moved here, and they recalled starting to see Big Red sometime in the 80's. I suppose by then I had already developed the Pepsi addiction and just didn't notice any other drinks.
We used to have to take cases of Big Red to California back in the day as our family loved Big Red specifically, and it isn't in that market at all.
but maaloxx, pepsi has baby fetus in it. not much worse than what's in barbacoa, but still.
No Big Red in El Paso? I'd figure this is were it was freaking bottled!
As far as tasting like Fanta Red Cream; not even close.
